You meant "voted", right.

Yes, black is heavy on maintenance and also a favorite for road side novelist's to try their writing skills!

No I guess he meant "Veto"ed and means that his wife has the Veto power.

@KVS: Recently a friend of mine bought a Safari VX 4X2 Balck. We drove like a couple of hundred kilometers and trust me it is definely a head turner, probably worth the extra maintenance. Congrats on your new ride.

Happywheels: Kbalii is correct. She has VETO Power and I had to follow the choice. She Vetoed my choice of colour. I used "vetoed" verb incorrectly. Thanks for pointing it out.

kballi: I do not have any regrets about the colour. I just came back from long drive to Ganapatipule. Yes I agree, Black safari is a head turner!!

Cheers..

Agree that she vetoed you choice of Perl White and she voted for her color, which was black. So, she did not "veto" the color black, didnt she, since you ended up buying black.

So, if I read your post, which was:

and replace the "vetoed" with "voted", then it falls into place. This is, unless you want to change the whole sentence and change the color to "Perl White" to keep the "vetoed" in place.

First Service update

I have got the First service done at exactly 1000 KM and after less than month of driving. I got the car back on 24th evening.

Heart rules over head. Booked, took the delivery of Black Safari VTT 2.2 VX 4X4-imag0098.jpg

Problem: Hissing sound on full turn of steering steering
Resolution: It is normal sound and no solution required

Problem: Passenger side Doors assembly is not good. There is lot of space and I can clearly see the assembly inside. I can read "child lock" clearly.
Resolution: It is still pending. According to TML service engineer that the gap is with in the acceptable limits. But it is n't acceptable to me.

Problem: Squeaking sounds in the car.
Resolution: Fixed. all seats are tightened and no squeaking sounds coming.

Problem: Makes a funny sound (Kich-kich) while accelerating. I could successfully reproduce the problem
Resolution: fixed. Entire cluster is removed and tightened again.

Problem: Problems in engaging in first and reverse gear
Resolution: Fixed. It is much better than what it was.

Problem: Once I was stuck in the traffic jam and was driving in first gear with stop and go. During that time I noticed burning smell in the car.
Resolution: clutch related. checked and it is OK.

Problem: Some times I am observing Power loss in third gear around 2000 rpm.
Resolution: I could not replicate the problem in the test drive. I need to check this. Still open from my side.

Problem: Audio disturbance in reverse gear and the reception quality is not good.
Resolution: Not fixed. It needs a specialist to work on it. I need to take the car to TML to get it fixed.

Vehicle was the Pandit Auto for almost five days. TML service engineers have also taken the test drive. I showed them the audio problem and door assembly problem.

The service adviser (Mr. Peter) and the works manager (Mr. Patwardhan) were very cooperative and helpful. They are very appreciative of my concerns and explained me what they have done. They delivered the vehicle at home.

I did not pay any amount for the first service. All oil levels are OK and there is no need for top-up.

My Ratings:

Customer friendliness - 9/10 ( I have both Indica and Safari. I see a tremendous difference on how they deal with Safari customers compared to Indica customers.)

Knowledge - 7/10

Responsiveness - 9/10 (They kept me informed everyday about the progress and delay in delivering the vehicle)

We went to Ganapatipule in the safari. I will post the pictures and travelogue separately.

The car went to the garage to get the Door assembly and Audio disturbance problems. I was told it will be back after four days.

Cheers

Did you get like a small pause and then the power comes back immediately.

then, are you also:
  • Driving mostly in the city
  • Using normal diesel
  • Getting these on gear shift at 1500-2000rpm and low speeds, 25-40.
  • Getting this on cold engine
if yes, has been discussed in the Safari techinical thread.

My VX 4x4 is having the same problem. Research here at Team Bhp reveals that it is due to an earthing problem of the reverse cam. The technician at TASS said that this is common with all VX models. Reception quality could vary due to lot of reasons.

Could you get rid of that hissing noise from the FM when you reverse.

Regards,
Sid.

Sid,

Finally the problem was nailed last week.

TML people informed me that it was a design fault and they referred this problem to their ERC.

I received a call from TML about a month back stating that they found the solution and wanted my vehicle for two days to fix the problem.

My vehicle was with TASS last week and the problem is resolved. They changed the rear view mirror and the camera under warranty. I do not have that problem now.

Suggest you please inform TASS to talk to TML and they will resolve this problem. Surprisingly this seems to be a problem with all VX versions and no one complained to TML about it. When I first reported the problem, They actually checked VX version Safaris in the plant and confirmed the problem exist.

I have clocked 10K recently. Will update this with my ownership experience soon..

Cheers
