Guys,

NEVER take the word of the sales managers about extended warranty. Kindly ask for extended warranty booklet. Read its terms and conditions.

For example, Maruti's extended warranty does NOT allow modification/purchase after 1 month of car. Which most dealers are unaware - the actual booklet would have real details.

And honestly, spending 50k on ICE and scrimping on extended warranty - interesting.

PS: I chose 4th year warranty, and 2900km down, but no ICE. Takes all kinds in this world!

Number of you choice? Good one. If a fancy one, would save you atleast 5k in Bangalore.

It is a personal preferance, but, do you really need this? 5k can be used for your ice or tyre, but this is just my personal opinion.

1.8D is a dream of a vehicle. Seems like you are one standalone Ford showroom. Great.

Would appreciate if you can put some over here, RW.

Seems like this statement is getting around a lot. Let just have it as "Once a ___*___ always a ___*___" (Where * = Ford / Scorpio / Safari / Maruti / GM. NOTE: Replace * with ONLY VEHICLE brand names!!!)

You know which forum to head to and what will happen if you do; do it at your own risk! LOL!

+1 on this! The SM will be a friendly person, but then, he will not be on your side when it matters. Please go for extended warranty. It will be small change compared to the peace of mind it offers.

@roadwarrior: Congrats for your new dream ride!!!!
You can probably think of starting an ownership review for Ford Ikon TDCi. You are the first owner amongst us.

Don't forget to post some nice pictures.

Great choice roadwarrior. I am sure many of us T-BHPians would be glued to this thread to learn about the ownership experience and the "friendly" ford A.S.S . Sure expect a few more of these machines on this forum with the sweet pricing deal on this.

Congrats Buddy!
To me it seems the package deal is on the expensive side so do research for individual rates outside as suggested by few members already. Enjoy and post the pics asap!

Lads,

My sincere apologies for the delay in responding.

I am sure most of you would understand the adrenaline rush in owning a new set of wheels (and the rest of the car too...)

Well, to begin with, a quick update, I took her for a 1K run to my hometown and back and it was brilliant! As hard as it was to keep it within the 2000RPM mark, twice I took her up to 3K RPM and the machine responds great.

Had my first flat too (this is what happens with a tyre and tube combo) due to some severely pathetic road condition. Have a deep cut and i decided to change the tube (what the heck)

A detailed report out is on the way. Owing to some organizational dynamics and work schedule, i was unable to sit and pen down my travelogue.

Got most of the car work done (extended warranty taken too) except for the full fledged ICE setup.
I might go for the front component / sub / amp setup soon.

I got a PM from Condor. I am told that he is quite an expert. If anyone has his coordinates, I'd truly appreciate if anyone could PM me with it.

Got some pic taken (both interiors & exteriors). I've misplaced my data cable to download the pics from my DSLR to my comp. I'll have that out for all you folk soon.

Currently I've clocked 1300 kms with more to come.

Until next time, may the force be with you.

Condor stays on Banerghatta Road. A nice chap, meet up with him if nearby.

Between, we're all waiting for the pics.
