Bought New Toyota Innova G4. ICed and Accessorized (with pics)

Hello Everyone

The story behind the buy is not that great.
Our Scorpio was aging with 1,75,000 on ODO. We are 8 members in our family, we wanted a MUV to carry us all around together.

We had 2 options. Safari and Innova.
I always loved safari. A few of my friends have safari. I have driven it quite a few times. Its a good off roader and great for highways, but not really meant for city driving.

I have always ehard good things about Innova but never driven it before.

I went in for a test drive. Salesperson was friendly and immediately arranged a test drive.

I loved the view from drivers seat. Interiors design was good, but quality of the plastics used is pretty amazing. Its leaps ahead of our scorpio and better than safari as well.

Seats were amazingly comfortable, and i was surprised that even the 3rd row seating is comfortable. Its not meant for kids (like in most of 7-8 seaters). Even the 2nd row sats can be adjusted backward and forward. Which I saw for the first time, its great with 4 people seating in the car, gives ample leg room when pushed back.

Car was amazing in handling and was good to drive. Steering felt responsive even on high speeds. There was almost no noise of engine inside the cabin. Pickup was nice, but missed the turbo kick as in my swift diesel. It was easy and fun to drive despite being a huge car. It felt more like a car than a SUV/MUV. Suspension was good, could not feel small bumps.
Gear shifting was smooth.

Its a great vehicle for city and highway.

Immediately finalized it. We chose G4 model (8 seater). The one that comes with AC vents till 3rd row.

Chose Champagne Gold color. Loved the color, other choices were white and silver. But they are used too much in taxis.

Was offered good discounts. Was offered 75000 cash discount and a few accessories. Mud flaps, foot mats, side strips and spoiler.

Transferred insurance from M800 which was on 50% NCB.

Immediately went to sector 28 after taking the delivery.

Here is the list of accessories that I got installed:
  • Alloy wheels and Yokohama C-Drive 225/60 R15 exchanged with the stock tyres, rims and wheel caps- Rs. 18500
  • Pioneer FH-P8000B HU - Rs. 9900
  • Infinty Components (2 sets) - Rs. 18000
  • JBL Amplifier - Rs. 7000
  • JBL Wiring kit - Rs. 1100
  • Autocop - Rs. 3600
  • Really for power windows - Rs. 1100
  • Transparent footmats - Rs. 2400
  • Fog lamps - Rs. 2600
  • Osram 90/130 bulbs + relay and wiring - Rs. 900
  • Roots horns - Rs. 1250
  • Filming - Rs. 1000
  • Pillars blackening - Rs. 300
  • Muffler tip - Rs. 300

  • Total - Rs. 67950
Blew off most of the cash discount.

Enjoy the pics.

Thanks a lot.
I agree, its the money well spent.

Planning to get art leather seat covers.

Also, can anyone comment on the roof rails? Do they look good on car?
Utility point for me is zero. Its just cosmetics I think.
I saw roof rails, but they had to be fixed using double side adhesive tape.
I think it will come off.
Is there any alternative?

Verna thread will be out soon. Its barebone stock as of now. Not even ICE, stock wheels.
Let me do something on it first.

great ride sumit. i would say- avoid the roof rails. they wont look good on an innova and you will never get the satisfaction like in factory fitted ones.

secondly, you have not mentioned the spoiler in accessories. i think you have bought them from the dealer itself. i bought the same one for my innova for 4500/- from the dealer. what about you?
also the side strips. the G4 does not come with one if i am right.

Side strips and spoiler dont come standard in G4 model.
However, I got them free as a part of the deal from dealer.

Current are 15 inchers. I opted for tire that was 225, There was a huge difference in price if going in for a lower profile.
