I guess with most of the Fiat Owners this is a similar predicament. Plus most FIAT owners I know don't want to sell their cars. So I guess this all adds up. You don't want to sell your car and since resale values are bad that you can keep them for eternity (however others pressurise you to sell)

Made another trip to vellore. We made 135 kms from my house in 1.25 Hrs. Started at 6.15 am from my house and reached at 7.40 am. The ride was just great. There was traffic till hyundai then it was easy going all the way.

From chennai to vellore i had my driver driving and had given strict instruction not to got beyong 120 kmph. And there was Chevy Spark giving us a suprise. He was constantly on our tail. Though we were doing 120 - 125 at times. He was there. We turned into vellore and the Spark proceeded towards bangalore. I was suprised to see the car handle well. And he seemed to have good control.

The way bak i was driving started there at 9.00 and reached home at 10.45. Will traffic at Porur, Guindy and Madhya Kailash.

Will post the interiors soon. I m getting her new seat covers and carpets.

As i had mentioned earlier. I have done some interior Work.

Got seat covers. Black art leather ones. Very good and Executive looking. Nice soft feel to it.

Then got floor mats. The universal fit ones. Fits well.

Today, parents had to make a trip to bangalore to visit my sister. The lights were very weak and i was not confident letting my driver with those lights. So went to GP road yesterday and got all the above done.

The problem came in when fixing lights. I asked for Osram. They were not in stock. Then he sugguested Navra. I had read good reviews about these lights in TBH. So i said yes. And he gave me. He gave me a normal 100/130 one. I said 'Bhai, is a siena, like paio and fiesta it has double barrel lights' Then he gave me sheepy smile. The car was right in front of his shop and seats were being fixed and he dint see what car it was. Then gave me H1 and H7 100W.

Then came the issue of fiixing the bulbs. They were about 3 or 4 guys how would do freelance work around. They would fix up stuff and get paid for it. PPl who have been to GP road would understand. But none of them were capable enough to do it. The shop guy called each one, and one by one came, saw, and left. The one guy who knew to do this was on vacation in hs village. So, was struck. Then made calls to my dad from Gp road and got hold of a local Car electrician. He said he will try. I thought ok. Something better than nothing. Got the bulbs. 2 H1s and 2 H7's. And a realy wiring kit.

Got back home and the electrician started work at 6.30pm last evening. And he said that one relay and the wiring is not sufficient. It would drainout the battery,so on relay for each side and he needed to strenthen the wiring as the ready made ones would not take the load. Then he meticulously strenthened the wire and i had sent my driver to get the additional relay. After 4 1/2hrs of working. He got the system running. The electrical system was very complex witht he double barrel setup. I have seen electicals of NHC Qualis Ikon. But nothing like this. He was not able to get the low beam working. On high beam all the four lights went up and it was quite a sight. He checked and rechecked the wiring, everything seemed to work correctly but the low bean was nt working. He was too tired and said the he had done some mistake and was ready to do the wiring again. I suggested that he should sleep now and get up in morning and work on it. So, today morning he started working on the light again. My dad asked him not to pull out the wiring, but to check all the connections once again. He checked and there was loose contact in the the wiring. And he got that fixed. Then drilled holes for the relay and then flexi piped the wires and taped them fully. And car was ready in one hr. Was not able to see how good the lights were as it as day already. The car has gone the bangalore trip. Will post the interior pics and the lights this weekend.

These are the pics of the guy working on the car. And also the H7 bulb. Pls excuse the quality. This Motoroker phone of mine is very weak in that area.

Re: Got a Siena

FIAT Siena 1.6ELX bought in 2002 and driven a little over 65000Kms. The engine growl of 100 Horses is stiil a melody. Now with 195/60/R14 Shoes ride is a awesome. No major problems with reqular service and oil change. Hazel Greay color still has that shine.
