Sorry to differ here. The failures of various components are experienced by many Figo owners in tbhp. We do not know about non-bhpians' ownership experience here. The standard of the quality is the big question rather than the pattern of failures.
Except a very few, all reported some type of premature failures and replacements during the 18months (max period so far) of ownership. But no doubt, the car is pleasure to drive.

I agree with you fully.

My car has started making squeaking noises from door linings and dashboard (bascially all plastic parts) after 6months of moderate (3200km now) use.

And just when I thought I was lucky to not see the engine stalling, the damn thing stalled on me. If I hadn't known that this was a common problem I wouldn't have been as calm as I was that day the moment I heard the chimes and noticed 0 rpm.

By the way: Is there a way to add some sort of a removable fibreglass (or similarly tough but flexible) sheet under the engine compartment - I'm now afraid of water/stones getting into the engine bay and doing real damage.

It is simple. Multiply 12 with 10Amps. Result is 120 Watt. We have read simple formula during our school P = V * A.

Thanks anujmishra, I know that formula very well, but if you would have read further I am concerned about Actual Load/Theoretical Load ratio, if we apply that then actual load you can apply comes to 60W or 50W thats why I have posted.
To best my knowledge these ratios come due to appliances may draw extra current while starting or due to some sporadic requirements.

Well nothing such thing happens. Do not think too much. You can easily use accessories worth ~100Watt. Do not worry. If you draw more current fuse will burn.

OK, Thank You very much, Do you know Alternator Rating for Figo ?

Does Anybody Know rating of Alternator in Ford Figo TDCI ? and what is maximum wattage of appliances it can support when engine is On.

The Rating of Aux. Power Supply in cabin is 12V 10Amp as per manual.

Even if engine is on, a certain rpm is essential to get the full load from the alternator.
IIRC, All modern cars have a rating around 60 Amps.

whitelion, running few accessories from cig lighter socket does not require such low level information. Unless and until you load you car with full of power sucking precision products, such amp rating for common user does not require.

Best is to figure out your battery capacity. If it is 35Ah. You should not load your car with more than 35 Amps with battery dependent accessories.

I am experiencing noise from front wiper. Its cleaning ability has also reduced drastically. I know that if I complain about this during my service (in a couple of weeks time) , the SA would advise me to replace the wiper without doing much. Has anyone experienced this? Mine is a 15 month old Figo. I heard that I should go with Bosch wipers but guess the Ford SC do not have it!

Finally got my steering rack replaced from Kairali Ford with me paying for Power steering fluid/Wheel Alignment & 20% of the rack price amounting to Total 2438.00.

Ford also instructed me to change to OE tyre size & OE alloys within 10 days or else there will be no warranty on steering/suspension from now on.

Hope this rack is strong enough to hold the extra 10mm tyre width upgrade. I guess the new rack is from different vendor because steering feel is slightly heavier than another Figo lying at the service center.

Also noticed that the Gas - escaping "whooshhh..." noise when the steering is turned full lock has disappeared.

@Figopian, Wiper noise is present in all Figos who have used the wiper for some time. In Kerala we had a marathon monsoon & my wiper has started squeaking badly.

My SA told there is no warranty on the wiper. Anyway i am planning to fix Bosch Aerotwins, Therefore i let it go.

:OT In US, Ford is probably the most modded brand...In India you look at an accessory shop while driving a Ford & your warranty is void. :Frustrati

Touchwood. So far I am lucky in this. But whenever I downshift, my mind subconsciously starts thinking, whether my engine will die now :Shockked:. This is what Ford has achieved by selling Figo successfully for 18 months. This is a critical fault and if needed Ford has to do a recall and fix once for all. Nothing wrong as long as the manufacturer accepts and rectifies it.

Good to hear about the replacement. If upgraded tyres are the culprit for your rack problem, then how come it happened to me with OEM components.
I think it is better to run as a plain car till the end of the 3rd year and do all the modifications later.
All international products sold in India are not at all consumer-centric. The vague explanation given by them is "In India, the customers cheat more ".:Frustrati

I heard that Bosch wipers are a lot heavier than the OE wipers. Is that right and will that impact the performance in anyway if you change it?

I am guessing you will keep the extra width.

This is present in my Figo also but I checked my steering rack for trouble and did not find anything. Surprisingly this is present in the Linea also and many other HPS cars.
Ford Figo Manual says not to hold the steering in the lock (extreme positions both) for more than 5 seconds together as this could damage the rack.

I suggest that you don't change to Bosch now that the rains have died down almost in kerala. It will just be a waste.

I am using Bosch (bought them in May just before the monsoon) and they served me well. The wipe is far superior to the OEM ones and it costs Rs 400 in Kochi. The OEM wipers costs Rs 750.

Completed the 20K service. The bill was for Rs.3646. Rs.1400 towards paid service and rest towards oil, filter and wiper blades.

The SA advised that the rear bearings need to be changed and was changed under warranty. Took 3 days to complete. Though the service experience was good, the vehicle was not cleaned properly and wash quality was not up to the mark.

Due to more number of vehicles, the cleaning is not proper. Where did you service. MPL OMR does two shifts per day and you can ask them to give the car in the morning, so the wash guys have time to do a better job.

I did it at MPL Vadapalani. The explanation by the SA was that car was washed on day one, and they found out the bearing problem during road test after washing. After that they had worked on the car for 2 days and hence the dust on the car.

I just asked them to clean it again though I could have insisted on washing the car again but that would have meant a further delay.
