Mine's a 2010 Model Figo Titanium TDCi. The highest I ever got was 17.4 Kmpl (Highway driving - medium load of 3 people all the way).

Currently, my mileage has stabilized at 13.5 Kmpl - this is all Mumbai city driving AND after putting in some synthetic oil. I'm also quite light-footed in my driving. Going by the figures reported here, I'm guessing something else is wrong with the car or me - mileage is usually the first indication. Tyre pressures are meticulously checked by myself, and always before starting. Any ideas what else one can check. I'm not overly concerned about mileage, but yes, if something isn't running too efficiently in my car, I feel the need to know :)

*all mileages calculated using the full-tank method.

If its around 13.4-15 in the city, you really need not worry. But if you are getting poor mileage, check the following.

1. Is your exhaust smoky? Is it black or white?
2. Is there excessive noise?
3. Do you instantly turn off your engine once you reach the destination?
4. Was your vehicle regularly serviced(as specified in the user manual)?
5. Is your vehicle idle erratic and are you hearing strange booming noise when running?
6. Is your vehicle having low pickup?
7. Do you drive with a heavy foot?
8. Is your AC at 100% always?
9. Have you had your air filter cleaned?

Thank you for your points - my answers inline

Will have to check this up
2. Is there excessive noise?
No
3. Do you instantly turn off your engine once you reach the destination?
No - I do let the turbocharger cool down
4. Was your vehicle regularly serviced(as specified in the user manual)?
Most certainly - one's due right now, which is why I'm trying to figure out IF anything's wrong before I take it there.
5. Is your vehicle idle erratic and are you hearing strange booming noise when running?
Nope
6. Is your vehicle having low pickup?
Yes - much lower than what it was before. I have driven another identical vehicle but one year later model (with the alloys), which seems to have a very smooth gear shifting experience and much more responsive on the throttle.
7. Do you drive with a heavy foot?
Nope
8. Is your AC at 100% always?
Yes - either 100% during day-time or just re-circulation.
9. Have you had your air filter cleaned?
This will be done in the upcoming service. Getting myself a Torx T25 to clean it between service intervals as well.

If you are having poor pickup, its mostly related to the turbocharger. Hopefully the service guys will figure it out. but mileage/pickup are related to the turbo either directly or indirectly. Either that, or they will have to check your ecu for fault codes and then act accordingly.

Mine is July 2011 EX TDCI. ODO is 21K just Done 20K service. Overall FE is 20.4 (Total KM / Total Lits as of today) Best I got after 20K service is for Kolhapur to Pune Trip is 24.7 very happy with performance and comfort.

Before and after 20K service roughly since 15K+ odo, I am facing a minor issue. When Car is parked for 4/5 hrs and started again (one can say cold start). First two gears function is normal but for 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear for first time I feel no power some amount of time and then it starts accelerating then for next downshift or upshift the problem is not there. When car is parked for 1/3 hrs this issue is not detected longer the park time more clear are symptoms. I have noticed that cooler the engine more prominent the issue is. Is it normal or I should check something. I feel that it has something to do with viscosity of engine oil.

During 20K service I put this to SA but since car has already traveled 10/15 KMs I could not reproduce the issue. I tried two three time more but same story. Its very difficult to reproduce the issue since I have to park the car 4/5 hrs then start again very time consuming task.

Hope somebody might have faced this and have some reasoning for this.

In my tdci, there is a metal grazing sound from the engine bay.
The sound occurs only when pressing the accelerator pedal from idle. It goes off later. So typically 750(idle) to 1000 rpm only.

This is not when the engine is cold; only when the engine has warmed up to operating temperatures.

I am suspecting the idler pulley or the tensioner bearing. Are they prone to premature failure in 1.4 tdci(25k km; oct 2011 model)?

I am also facing the same issue. Don't want to go to the service station as they might change some parts just for the heck of it even if isn't required. Mine is 1.4 tdci(15k km; mar 2010 model).

Noise from the engine bay when the accelerator is engaged or when you push the clutch? The clutch noise happens because of the hydraulic pump pumping fluid/sucking fluid for the clutch to either engage/disengage. The accelerator noise could be anything - turbo shaft or a tensioner belt(metal rubbing noise/a screeching noise) are one of the few causes.

I believe I made an error here. Metal grazing noise occurs in idle position after driving with full ac on blower 3 for good 30 mins. Then ac is switched off. On opening the bonnet the grazing sound is clearly audible. However it mixes with the engine sound so I am skeptical about this issue.

It could be the compressor load getting disengaged from the engine. I think you might be having a problem there. It might not be a major issue but it can cause wear and tear pretty soon since i feel its friction in play here. Ask your A.S.S technician to check the AC couplings and then check the alternator couplings. I am not very good with technical terminologies and apologies if i am not making sense.

For me, the clutch or AC compressor is not an issue at all. As i said, it is a metal grazing noise, that occurs in neutral or when driving in gear;

only between idle and 1000 rpm; or when engine rpm slows down to the aforementioned rpm range.

Not heard when engine is cold; occurs only after engine reaches optimum temperature.

If its audible when engine is warmed up, it suggests one thing: Heat expansion. now what is the moving part related to the gears? I guess its got something to do with the gears for sure. I guess some expert can shed more light here. Its not the transmission part but where the gears are engaged since fwds dont use crankshafts if i remember.

Guys

One quick question: is the Figo's second service due in 6 months or 12, assuming it has not touched 10000 kms?

It is 12 months for sure or 10K kms whichever will be completed first.

It is not the gears, i can confirm. Because, this sound is unperturbed whether it is neutral, clutch depressed, or gear engaged, or driven on road.

Do get the engine mount checked, might be issue with them.
