One quick question: is the Figo's second service due in 6 months or 12, assuming it has not touched 10000 kms?

12months or 10K km.

It is not the gears, i can confirm. Because, this sound is unperturbed whether it is neutral, clutch depressed, or gear engaged, or driven on road.

Hey is the sound most pronounced exactly at 1000 rpm? and goes back to normal at idle or above 1000 rpm? even i have similar symptom which comes only at 1000rpm when engine is hot. I showed it to A.S.S and they said its normal. Been getting it since the car was new, now its done 12K km and more than a year old.

Yes. You can hear it in city driving often, provided cabin is calm.

I am not 100% certain but I think its probably normal. Lets hear from others on the forum. A.S.S already told me that its normal but i dont trust them 100%. I have a uncle with petrol Zen which makes very similar sounds only at idling rpms and not otherwise. Car has been in the family for 10 years and no issues. So i guess its some kind of mechanical characteristic.

Guys i have a question. My figo has clocked around 400 Km on the odo. I am heading out on a trip to tirupati city. Is this advisable during the run-in period?
Also, my RC hasn't arrived yet(getting it the day after). So can i still make this trip?

Though it is generally good to have RC original and also DL, I don't apprehend any issues, as Tirupati is not too far and not too deep into AP. You should carry your original invoice, DL, etc, just in case you are questioned.

No problem as far as run-in period is concerned. Remember to vary engine speed from time to time (rpm speed, not necessarily vehicle speed).

Thanks vnabhi, i do have my originals and insurance. Everything except the rc. So once again, thanks for your reassurance :)

Vary the rpm between 1500-2500 in the ghats bends. And most importantly, fill diesel only in good bunks.

I have a petrol Figo, May 2010, run 23K kms. I get the same metallic sound between 1000-1200rpm. And yes, it sounds exactly like the old carb Zen engine - I had a '97 model earlier.

Spoke to a Service Advisor last month about it. Since I was in the workshop early morning, we warmed up another petrol Figo and checked - same sound.

I hadn't used Figo's BT stereo till yesterday. Managed to connect my both phones to it. The calls go w/o any issues. I didn't get a call during that period.

Do you have to press a button for the call to get answered or is it automated?

BTW, for the past 10 refills or so, my Fuel economy has been between 17.5 to 19kmpl with 100% AC. I hit close to 600kms with 2 bars of fuel remaining.

You need to press a button on the stereo which has a phone icon on it to accept a call.

That is super mileage you have been getting. i have never managed anything like it.

Thanks! Yes, I do see a phone icon. I believe pressing it shall activate the call.

Initially, I was driving it like a petrol Car. Now, I go by the torque wave. There is simply no need to bury the accelerator, part throttle does the job.

And yes, the FE improved after 15,000kms on clock. I was getting less than 15 kmpl earlier. No matter however I drove.

Hey Folks, I have been facing an issue with bluetooth connection for my SGS2 with car's OEM HU. Every time it connects the BT contacts sharing feature hangs on my phone and after a while my phone gives a mesg that BT sharing has been killed. It happens despite me accepting sharing. I tried deleting BT profile both on phone and HU but no use. I am not certain but I think this problem started after I updated my phone to Android 4.0. It used to work before. Any suggestions?

INteresting. mine is a diesel though. Maybe next time I will also do the same at service center and check other diesel cars.

You can use the mute button to switch off the mic.

Does anyone know where the HU mic is placed ?

i was told by one of my friends that the mic is placed somewhere off-center in the ceiling of the car, near the utility lamp. But somehow i am uncertain since there isn't any giveaways about its exact position. Something prompts me to believe that it is housed near/on the HU itself.

I shall check.

It catches lot of ambient noise while driving. Need to place it somewhere near the driver.
