Is Ford Figo equipped with engine immobilizer?

i visited the showroom on 21st Feb, the day it reached there. felt big and comfortable. as usual TD was not allowed, but I managed to talk a sales guy through to allow me to turn the ignition on. It was a petrol car, and was placed inside the showroom. It was an almost empty showroom on sunday afternoon closing time, and when i turned the ignition on, there was clear idling sound in the cabin, i rolled up all the windows, and pushed the accelerator a bit, and the growl was clearly audible inside. I do not know how much the actual engine noise would be in actual driving conditions on road. but one thing is for sure this one is nowhere as refined or silent as the Beat's.

I think GTO also noted this in his review.

If you start the car inside the showroom, it will sound loud as th sound tends to resonate. I am not sure if you taken this factor in to account. 1.6 Duratec engine was noisy anyway.

I had started the petrol engine at the showroom without TDing it and found it coarse with a fair bit of in cabin noise.Even in neutral the engine was not eager to rev beyond 3000rpm.Head room is not a big issue as feared.I being 6'2" had about 2 inches clearence in both front and rear seats. The sound quality of stereo deserves special mention though.

Few things I would like to know whether the front windows really dont go beyond 60%. (as mentioned by GTO in the 1st review). If yes this can be a quite a repulsion for customers.

GTO also mentioned about the engine (Ritz 1.2 > i10 Kappa > Figo > Punto > Fabia)
Can you kindly add polo, beat, jazz, vista in that sequence.

It is just the lack of power and modern looks I went in for BEAT. However the handling of ford was very tempting. To add to the fun there was better space and airy cabin.
(Also costs 20K more for similar features)

Checked out Ford Figo for like 5mins in showroom last Saturday.

My observations

it's the rear windows, they go down only upto 60%. The fronts go down full.

Had a look at the Figo(petrol,Titanium) today ( no TD though) and following are my observations:
1.Overall build quality appears to be good.
2.It appears that medium thick sheet metal has been used.
3.Doors shut with a nice assurance sound.
4.The back rest of the front seats are too firm ( the sales guy at the
showroom told me that many prospective customers have reported this)
5.Rear seats have no adjustable back rests, and possibily would be
uncomfortable for long journeys.
6.I felt somewhat strange with the brake pedal.Either the angle of the
pedal is odd or it is placed too close to the cluth pedal and a bit too far
from the acclerator pedal. ( Again, entirely my opinion, I may be wrong )
7.As per the sales guy, the bumbers are made of polypropylene material.
He demosntrated how the bumpers can retain their original shape after a
small impact.I really appreciate this feature, which is a boon in the
bumper-to-bumper city traffic.
8.Like the M800, the Figo has a low height.Ingress and egress wouldn't
be pleasant esp. for the elderly and the physicallay disabled.

Can anyone compare estilo with figo I think both have almost same price. Estilo top end = figo starting price.

lol: no comparison what so ever. FIGO wins even if it doesn't have the bells and whistles.

What makes you say that?

Well if the price points are same...then its directly competing with Estilo as well. Also considering Estilo is doing 5K+ numbers now, estilo's sells would suffer the most, being at the same price point.

Ford has a single small car to cater the whole B/B+ segment, so they have to price it to cover the whole spectrum. petrol starting at estilo level and diesel touching swift should be good. And as the petrol engine is not impressive any way, that one needs to be priced more aggressively. Diesel is a sure seller.

Would you compare a Zen Estilo with Swift ? This is as lame a comparison as that. Would you compare Santro vs i10 or i10 vs i20? Estilo is a segment lower and is no match for a Ford Figo.
