M/s Rajshree Ford, Coimbatore is going to move out of Ford dealership (Sales and Service) shortly. They have been in service from 1997.

They are going to start a multi brand car service soon.

Facing an issue with the drive shafts. This issue used to exist for over 2 years but surfaced only when taking hair pin bends in the hills.

Off late, it's gone worse and there is noise when taking a left and right turn sharply. Took the car to Bosch Service Centre and was quoted 5k per drive shaft for overhaul. New one costs 12 K and spare parts website online quote 6k for new.

Please drop in your valuable inputs. Thanks in advance.

I have heard that the face-lift had Bosch. Can't confirm though.

Mine is from the May 2012 batch and it had Continental injectors.

Bosch injectors cost hardly 9500 while the Continental ones cost 18k.

Mine is also a 2012 figo fitted with defective injectors. Injector number 3 and 4 are not firing up correctly according to Ford A.S.S who is eager to replace it.

Last week there was a free check up camp for Figo/Fiesta organized by Ford. They asked me to get the car for free inspection. There are some discounts going on for bulbs , oil , suspension work, paint etc. It is there till Oct-10 in case any one is interested. They called in the name of check up and they wanted me to go for complete suspension change claiming there is 20% discount. They dint even bother to check service history to confirm that spring and the lower arms have been replaced recently.

S.A mentioned that Ford has reduced the price of injectors. The new price for injectors is 12K+ compared to 16K+ before.

The price of 16K or 12K, I still feel Ford is hiding behind the excuse "Vehicle is already old and injector(s) have worn out due to usage" to hide the defective injector it had sold in 2012 batch of Figos. There are too many complaints online about these defective injectors in pre-2013 batch of Figos.:Frustrati

By the way, any one has kept Figo till 200,000 KMs. Can you please list out any major expenses between 100,000 to 200,000 KMs? Mine has run 125,000 KMs. Now a days I am thinking if it is worth keeping it or getting a new one considering reliability is a critical factor for my daily commute.

Also, what is the life of 1.4L Figo diesel engine?

If the service center is genuine, then go for overhaul.

Industrybuying website shows ~3500 for left and ~4500 for right. I am not sure about the originality of the online products.

If you have planned to have the car for a longer period, then go for OEM replacement.

Be sure 2 injectors are actually defective. Hans Ford said the same for my car, but when the injectors were removed and checked outside, only one was faulty.

FASS simply relies on diagnostic equipment readings.

I was told from Ford Customer care that goodwill warranty is available if the car was serviced all along at Ford dealerships all along. Do try to avail that

A twist in the tale. Till the generation of bill, I was quoted 5000 per shaft. Then the SA at Bosch after looking into the computer said it's 5800 per shaft.

I asked him to call up the owner because I was initially quoted 5000 per shaft only. The owner promptly replied that 5800 is for a pair of shafts not one.

Whether the SA was ignorant or was trying to cheat,I got a reprieve at the last moment.

Thank you. I tried following up with Ford customer care but no use. All my services were timely and done at Ford A.S.S. Ford customer care and their manager only had standard answer "sir car is out of warranty so we cant help. It is due to usage or bad fuel" and when I said internet is full of faulty injector stories they said "We handle complaints case to case basis. In your case it is not manufacturing fault.(which means they accept some other case there was manufacturing fault? :uncontrol ). Your car is out of warranty so you have to replace it". My car had issue like suspension issue, link rod issue etc which I accepted as wear and tear and replaced them during service. However in case of injector, there is no excuse. It is indeed a manufacturing defect looking at lots of discussion over internet.

Unfortunately Indian consumer laws and procedure are not supportive enough for common man.

Which svc in bangalore are you talking to? I know the guys in PPS ford very well now thanks to my own fiasco. Let me know, i will put in a proper word to ensure that this is taken care of with maximum benefit to you.

And yes, if you have serviced with ford all your life, you are literally eligible for one free injector at the very least (as communicated to me). I had not unfortunately, so i just went and got them serviced.

On the other hand if you want the injectors serviced, i can help u with that too via pps ford (get injectors removed there, take it by hand to injector specialist and return to have pps fix it back for a small labour cost). If doing this, get all four sorted, your car will purr like new.

Hello All!
I am happy owner of 2012 face lifted Figo TDCi. Have clocked 83000kms so far. I feel it's time for some makeover! I am planning to install Touchscreen with built in navigation ICE in the car. Has anyone installed Touchscreen ICE in old Figo? Looking for inputs which unit to go for.
Also I am planning to remap her, only fly in the ointment being unavailability of any shops in Pune. :Frustrati

Folks

My daughter's Figo tdci in Bangalore is having a strange issue today. The car was idle for 11 days as she was in Hyderabad. Today, while driving to work, she found the AC not cooling at low revs, in thick traffic. But when the traffic was less dense , and the speed was faster, it was working normally. She is facing the same issue on her return trip today.

What could be the problem? She got the AC Evaporator Coil replaced around 2 years ago, when the car was 4 years old.

Please check if the cooling fan is working. I had similar issue sometime back and found some fuse is gone and fan was not working.

if the AC fan motor is the culprit, it will not cool at all. I had that experience on my Fiesta 1.6 long back, and the fan was replaced under EW.

I had the exact problem in my Figo (no cool air when in idle / stopped in traffic light, works fine when the car moves). What i understand is that when the car moves the natural air flow helps the condenser to cool.

I have faced the same issue of no cooling in slow speeds, the evaporator had developed a leak and had to be replaced.

Fan issue. You're right. If it was the coil, there would not have been any cooling at all.
As far as I know, the figo too has only one fan, like the fiesta?
If so, do get it fixed on priority as a non working fan may blow the head as well.
