One of my favourite sedans

Does it come with the Remote Locking / Remote Bootlid opening ? A friend has a top variant and it comes with that and is a very nice feature.
Yes, ZXi has both these features in its key.

Kapil,

A BIG congratulations of getting yourselves the Fiesta. The Morello color looks so cool on Fiesta. What was the OTR cost of your vehicle?
What accessories have you planned? What about tyre upgrade which seems to be a norm with most of the Fiestians.
Drive safely, take good care of her. She is one mean machine, happy driving.

Thanks!
Its 8L after corporate discount of 8K and some bargaining.
There are 4 things in my mind
  1. Sun protection for windshield - Garware Icecool shield. Other glass areas have been covered by the dealer.
  2. Reverse (and if possible forward) parking sensors as the parking in my residential compound is too tight. I have heard of 6 sensor system - 4 at the back and 2 in front. Plan to install that.
  3. Vinyl leather seats
  4. GPS navigation system
The first 3 are immediate goals. 4th one i can differ for some time. And other than these items i wont be needing anything else as i am more than happy with the stock ICE and lightning setup. Also no tyre change at this point of time, I will switch to Michelin when stock ones wear out.

Kapil, congrats once again, as I told you I have driven TDCi 9000+ kms till date in 5 months, I feel I just took delivery of car, neat interiors, no single rattle, solid built, fun to drive and great fuel efficiency, fill it shut it forget it.
IMO right decision to stick to OEM tyres, upgrading slightly affects on handling and FE part.
Wish you many many happy miles.

Congrats on the buy Kapil. Fiesta ZXi is one of those models currently available which includes a lot of goodies, and still doesn't cost the earth.

Wishing you a safe drive and a lovely ownership experience.

1500 kms update

Hi all,

Just wanted to update that I have covered lil over 1500 kms in 18 days and it has been a wonderful experience so far! The car is fun to drive and is confidence inspiring.

My driving has been 60% highways and 40% in peak hour bumper to bumper city traffic. FE figures returned during 2 tank fulls are 15.7 KMPL and 17.2KMPL. Maybe i was making a lot of mistakes during initial days (yet to get my permanent license) and now driving has become smoother which explains the increased FE. Not bad in my opinion, considering I drive with ac on always and gear shifts happen at 2K RPM.

Well i am happy that the run-in period is over and now i can slowly start to really step on the gas..

I had earlier planned to get reverse parking sensors due to tight parking scene in my parking, but now i have got used to it and no longer feel the need. So the only accessories that are coming are vinyl seat covers - thinking about g sport, Ice cool shield for the front windscreen and finally a gps. Will post pictures when i get them installed.

Thank you all again who helped and influenced me in buying this wonderful car!

Great that you are enjoying hassle-free experience.

I will still recommend the rear parking sensor..with this you can even go till a inch of a rear obstacle confidently.

I have installed icecool shield today. Set me back by 2100 bucks. This was the lowest price i came across in all of mumbai/navi mumbai.

Also opted for art leather seat from the same store. Took G sport Luster sample and searched for a material similar to that. Got it for almost half the price (3700) in mushroom colour. custom covers should be ready in 2-3 days time.

Also planning to put a transparent plastic floor mat over existing original ford carpet mats as they become dirty quite fast. especially the driver side one. Infact the heal of my shoe has started digging into the mat. One good thing i saw in mats that come with Chevy Cruze is that it has a leather/hard plastic patch where the heal rests.

I also ordered those high security number plates for 1500 bucks. They look cool.

I do not want to add anything over existing mirror, and since that shop didnt have only beep type sensor, i am waiting till he gets one. He quoted 2800 for the one with LED display on mirror. I think this is a good price.

This guy even offered the top of the line MMI GPS for 17200. it retails for 19490 otherwise.

MMI GPS at rs 17200 (19490) - which model is this -ZX150 with 5" screen?
MMI VX140 and LX 130 are also good which is cheaper than zx150?

Yes, for 17,200 its the top end ZX version that has provision for rear view camera in addition to whatever is available in VX model.

I am planning to go for the entry level road pilot one. Its cheaper, but better than LX.

My fiesta will be completing 1 month in a few days and i thought of getting the extended warranty. I remember sales person mentioning about reduced rates if one opts for the ex warranty within 1 month of purchase.
Went to Bhavna ford today, got a quote of rs.17,XXX/- for 3rd and 4th year warranty that includes RSA. I suspected that the price quoted while booking was cheaper than this, so called up another dealer in Mumbai. Wasan motors confirmed that the price was rs.15,570. However, they also added that i can purchase this only from my car dealer and not from any other dealership.
This is really strange.. prices for such standard products should be constant in a city atleast! I have asked Bhavna ford to check and confirm. Will call them again tomorrow.

3rd/4th EW should cost you appx 9500/- (both years)..17K is a rip-off. Please check if the 17K quote is including the TMP (total maintenance plan).

+
imo, they are quoting this amount for 3rd and 4th year EW and RSA?
but RSA is so costly i.e about 7/8000???
Suggest ask for detailed quote i.e how much for EW and RSA (seperate quote).
