Hey Friends,

I asked you about Nandi Hills and all. Finally, the plan changed right on the way to Nandi Hills and we took a U-Turn to go to Hogenakkal Falls. Please go through this thread for my trip / review / photos :

hi.. got a few quick questions..
Was zipping in my friends new Ritz VXi..

1. He says that the engine is made of some new alloy which is combined with plastic..
Now, wont that be bad if the engine heats up.. If it indeed is a plastic component.
2. On opening the windows we were terrified by a constant zippy sound that the wind made.. it sounded a lot like the rear tyre puncture.. Is there something aerodynamically wrong with the car? Or was it just us..
3. The first oil change I was told will be on the first service, there after no oil change for the next 20k kms.. is it true?
4. Friend's planning to upgrade to a JVC/ Pioneer Bass tube.. with twin pioneer speakers at the back to complement the front components, and a 4 channel amp to support the tube.. any good suggestions there??

Yes, i also took my vehicle on 6th march .
And yes i guess both our Ritz came on the same time, because when i went to the stockyard to do PDI of the car, there was one fire brick red vxi was standing there, so i guess it was yours.
Yes i will also post some pics along with a ownership report in some time.

Cheers

@ Ritz

@ Rocky : Yes, Bangalore OTR / Price is very much higher. (road tax is too much).

@ Chaudhary : Lets have our 1st service done together . What say ? ;-)

@ nishu : Let me assure u on behalf of all Ritzeans out here; the Engine is Gem and not worry about anything. ( I have discussed with Maruti Workshop Manager before buying this car and absolutely no problems at all ).
I don't know about the plastic things u have mentioned ! Surprized to know this ! Haven't heard about anything like this before.
About Wind / Window sound : I had no probs like this.

And about Oil change : Yes, 1st service you have to. 2nd service, oil change not required. not sure about 20 K limit.

1 Question to all lease: I find my engine noise to be on the higher side after switching ON the AC. (Its obvious though). But, will it reduce (Engine noise) after 1st service ?
Since, I heard from many ppl here that more you drive it, Ritz becomes better and better.

There is no oil change at the 1st service, as per the manual not even in 2nd service. It is changed only during 3rd service at 10000 KMs.

Re the engine noise when AC is ON, I don't find that noise in my ZXi. If it is there, it won't disappear after 1st service unless you report it. 1st service is simply checking that all fluid levels are fine and cleaning from inside and outside. Nothing else.

I agree with Gandhi, there is no need of oil change for Ritz until it hits 10K. Some belief that the new engine would have some sedimentations post a month and would advise to change the oil . But I think it does not make sense. Go by the manual.

I read the manual as though Iam going to appear for my interns.

@ Ritz Engine noise & oil change

Thanks for the info about Oil change; since I will be going for 1st service in 15 days of time.

About Engine noise :- May be I will have to check it again or stand outside to check with AC & Engine ON.

I checked it !

I guess I was wrong, I checked and there is not Engine noise.
Will be giving for 1st service next week.

One of my friend paid Rs. Zero for 1st service.
Is it possible (If you dont have any complaints about the vehicle)?

And also in this case, what all the Service guys will do ? (Only Cleaning ?)

Yeah my first service too was a no cost affair. It is basically cleaning the car and Post delivery inspections in the car to check for any deviations.

What are the best seat covers to have on Ritz (Fire brick Red) ? Art Leather / Fabric ? What will be the cost (Aprox) ?

I have gone through the General posts on Seat Covers & Interiors. But, would expect inputs specific to Ritz from u guys.

Let me know.
