Hi Bisabhi - Congrats on the purchase ! You would have got a single sheet along with the owners manual. (Bar to PSI conversion chart ). If you didnt then just tell the dealer they will give you one free of cost. The tyre pressures for the various sizes are indicated on the sticker near the drivers side door pillar. Match the tyre size indicated to the pressure.

Dont know about Mumbai roads, but here in Blore am maintaining 30 front & 36 rear as per the recommendation.

Many thanks Nirmal. I did get that sheet but was unsure what type my tyres are.

Re: My new Car - BMW 320D - reine Freude!

Same question f;lyingspur:

wha is the tryre pressure you have settled for.

i kept at 32 for front and 36 at the rear as recommended but the ride gets really stiff.

please note it only me or max 1 passenger driving with me all the time.

what would you recoomend for me?

Re: My new Car - BMW 320D - reine Freude!

Just spotted your 3er at Infinity Mall. Writing this post from the mall itself. My Black Civic is parked right next to it

Must say you have kept your car maintened even after 2 long years(or maybe I liked it too much coz I just love the E90 LCIs in AW and black.. a lot lol)

Re: My new Car - BMW 320D - reine Freude!

Hello,

After the last post in 2012 on this thread, I feel guilty of not updating this enough. The car has now crossed 91000 kms on the ODO and finished 5 years of ownership in April 2015. The last 60 months have been very exciting with meets, night drives, long road trips, a few minor accidents, and of course the daily commute (people stare at me with disdain when I say I have only one car)

Will be adding a few photographs soon of the journey so far - however, most of the snaps are getting posted horizontally. I tried searching the forum if photos can be corrected to portrait mode instead of landscape. Can anyone help me to do it?

My new Car - BMW 320D - reine Freude!

Hey,
I have seen you umpteen no. of times near my college (NMIMS MPSTME opposite Amar Juice Centre).

I love your Euro style No.Plate. I used to always say to myself he sure must be a team bhpian! You have maintained it very well. Never thought it would be a 5 year old car.

That is one impeccably maintained Bimmer, contangoback. She looks as good now as the first pictures you've put up when the car was delivered. The last 91k kms would have been sheer joy to drive am sure.

Congrats.
My humble request :- Kindly , post the maintenance costs you have encountered during the regular service. Cost of parts like brake pads, suspension replaced etc . Would be really helpful for our bhpians who are willing to own a Used BMW , will help us to know whether we can afford to maintain it. My family friend told me that the brake pads for 530d costs Rs.40000.

I had BSI Ultimate package which ran for 3 years / 60000 kms (INR 1.75 lacs approx paid in 2010) and got it extended to 5 years / 100000 kms in 2013 by paying additional INR 1.5 lacs approx so a total of INR 3.25 lacs over 5 years which covered all services, filters, oil changes, certain parts replacements, new vipers for 4 monsoons in 5 years, front and rear brake pads, a couple of suspension related parts, etc. Have not paid anything over and above the same (its comes to around INR 5.4k a month) except for accidental repairs, denting/painting (again Bajaj Allianz and Bharati AXA have been kind to take all of it under Secure for first 4 years and zero dep by AXA for the 5th year). I just renewed the regular insurance for INR 35k (no zero dep) for the 6th year. BMW Secure also gave a few opportunities for changing all the 4 run-flats atleast once in the last 4 years. I spent another INR 40k on Michelin PS3 normal tubeless radials. The above summarized broadly all the expenses on the car so far and as can be observed its not too expensive to maintain. Please go ahead with the 530d and take BSI Ultimate service package.

Thanks abhii176 - absolute joy, especially cornering at higher speeds, bends, going uphill / downhill

Re: My new Car - BMW 320D - reine Freude!

Great pics & good going Tejas,

Your car is a great example of a "premium" German long termer on our Forum

How long do you wish to keep her before a change / upgrade ?
