You mentioned that your F-i-L is a retired Air Force officer. So does that mean the car is in his name? Or is it in your name? Sorry I am unaware of how things happen the CSD way.
thanks. great to know you too are a dentist. where do you practice. i am a prosthodontist. i have already given the breakup cost in the first post itself.
yes the car is in my FIL,s name.doesnt matter as long as i am not getting dicorced.

will surely contact you when needed. for the first service i had to go to URMIL Ghaziabad. as NOIDA centre is closed on sunday and i dont time on weekdays.
though there were some problems but overall Urmil Seems to be a good service centre for fiat i guess.

The car is simply great but *** is the biggest pain. While giving the car for servicing make sure you thoroughly inspect your vehicle. The reason I say this because SC people have habit of take parts of out new vehicles to fix the ones that have come for repair. If possible remain at SC while car is being serviced.

Wish you many many happy miles!
thanks .The car is long past the run in periods. will surely follow your advice regarding service.

Congrats Car-Dent. :-)
Linea looks awesome in BNW.
I'm a doctor too. Nice to see many docs on this forum. 1000km/week is quite a running. Wishing you many happy miles ahead and enjoy your beauty.

Some observations:

The doors cant be locked with the door levers after you come out. They HAVE to be locked with a remote or key. that makes it impossible to leave the keys locked inside. But on the flip side, locking with a key everytime may be cumbersome. also, suppose you leave a passenger waiting in the car, they cant lock the car and go away, you will have to come to lock the car.

The manual tells a method to temporarily override the seat belt buzzer. and it can be permanently deactivated by the service centre.

the music system has a setting called extern volume, dont know whats that about.

i like the position of the trip button on the wiper stalk end. but it would have been better if there were two buttons to go up and down the menu. now suppose if i want to see trip A distance when the mID is showing the AcA then i have to scroll through all the values for trip A and trip B. that is sometimes irritating.

the MP3 songs on the disc cant be played on the RANDOM mode. or may be i am not able to find a setting for the same.

On the ground clearance thing, I always wanted to upgrade my tyre to 195/65 R15, but somehow didn't want to waste money on my used tyres. So, waited. Now I'm done with two front tyres, put the unused spare tyre on one and bought another new one. Now, I'm planning to go for the 205/50 R17 itself.

Now, FIAT itself is launching Linea T-jet with 205/55 R16,. which is of same size as 195/65 R15 or 205/50 R17.

If you don't want to make it too tall for the handling part, 205/60 R15 should be perfect. My colleague in office did it and he is not facing GC issue anymore.

On the MP3 random thing, I think the latest patch on Blue & Me Software supports it or it probably already supports it and we don't know. I too have not explored that much... I enjoy driving more than music

External Volume: When selected to high, music volume will increase as the car speed increases. While selecting it you might find the volume getting extremely loud till you are in selection menu. Random: Select random "on" from the media player settings. Can be changed only when car is stationary. About the car lock, I think it is better thing so that one doesn't forget the keys inside. This feature has been present on Fiat cars since Uno.

@nutsnbolts, my replies in bold

that is speed volume you are talking about.

that is for the USB media player. i was talking about the disc.

About the car lock, I think it is better thing so that one doesn't forget the keys inside. This feature has been present on Fiat cars since Uno.

i feel there are +ve as well as -ve implications to this feature.

Congrats and welcome to the Linea Club Car-Dent, must say quite a unique handle. Hope you have a great ownership experience.

And yes my two cents- dont worry about A.S.S.. I think it has been brought out in many threads that TASS is as good or bad as most of the others. It actually depends on service center and it's people. My advice to you would be to go to a TASS which has a good rep', in your area.

i got insurance free but had to pay for the extended warranty i.e Rs 5350. i enquired with two different dealers, both said ext warranty is not free with CSD vehicles. anyways On road Assistance is free for all vehicles irrespective.
just out of curiosity, what is the onroad price quote you have got?

Re: LINEA MJD 2010 through CSD UPDATE: covered 175000 kms.

My car has crossed 175000 kms in 75 months and still going strong. Got a suspension change and went with the GC upgrade as well. Feels awesome once again.

Perhaps the Linea here with most kms on the ODO.

Fiat Linea: intermittent loss of power.

I have a 2010 fiat linea (1.3 MJD emotion ) that has about 1,85,000 km on it. Off and on since about a year I have a problem where the engine will seem to lose power, but remain running. I will press the accelerator and the car will seem to only coast at max 1500-2000 rpm. If I turn it off and then re-start it, the engine seems to be okay. It seemed to only randomly happen about 2-3 times in last year. I haven't talked to the service centre about it as the problem is too infrequent and vague and not repeatable. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on this one?
