Re: A Trip to the land of merlion and twin towers

Some pictures on the way back from Genting highlands.
Our next halt was at Batu caves.
This temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan.
It takes about 10-15mins to climb on to the temple.
The city view from the hills are fantastic.
There was not much crowd in the temple and it made me easy to take some
good photographs during the evening fading lights and in the night
as I reached the temple around 7pm and the sunset was after 7.15pm.

Re: A Trip to the land of merlion and twin towers

Next day was reserved for shopping and the first location was Sungei wang shopping mall then to
China town market and Berjaya times square. The last mall I mentioned
had a roller coaster inside the mall.
China town is like shopping in India with lot of bargaining to almost 25% of the cost what the market guy speaks up.Lot of duplicate branded watches at very cheap prices.

We crossed over Bukit Bintang in the monorail upto Maharajalela to the China
market. Most of the malls are which I posted are around Bukit Bintang.
I think I missed out food street in K.L.
Plenty of foot massage parlors around Bukit Bintang
I stayed near Bukit nanes and close to the beach club bar.
I was going through your travelogue you have covered most part of Singapore in
one day that was fantastic. Will post some pictures from the Singapore flyer in the twilight.

Re: A Trip to the land of merlion and twin towers

Doctor Saab, Excellent travelogue and same goes for the pictures too.
So you swapped your car for an airplane this time?

Any travelogue reminds me of my numerous visits to KL and couple to singapore.

Both are so different yet being so close. Most people dont like KL but, I like that place for being a perfect blend of old customs and contemprary development.

Please do share the costs of your trip including hotels etc for us to benefit in future.

Thanks mobike008 for the compliment most of my colleagues were pulling my leg by saying did you travel by flight.

I think Ashishpallod had given a good details about K.L. My trip was conducted trip to K.L.
From K.L to Singapore and back was my part and those details I can share.
I stayed at Hotel Renaisance close to the monorail station in Bukit nanes.
I think staying in K.L and a day trip to Genting highlands is quite good and with Airasia giving some fantastic offers it is affordable.

Re: A Trip to the land of merlion and twin towers

Second leg to Singapore

I am up in the morning for the last glimpse of the twin towers from
my room and say adieu to K.L.
My taxi was ready at 9am and my flight was at 12.30pm.
I had a small conversation with the driver and he was saying about the
distance and the roads which are twisty and needs to slow down.He gets a call
from his wife about the update to K.L.airport road that there are some traffic jam.
Something interesting thing he said was if he does not reach me to the airport
in time inspite of traffic jams he needs to payback for the cost of
next flight.
Some pictures from CCT terminal KLIA as I was wandering in the area for close
to about 2hrs.
I could see lot of chinese people and one thing common in the children
between our two countries.
One small guys leaves one of his footwear and keeps kicking it around on the
corridor.
Lot of these children have thick eyeglasses as some of our children have.
The coke machines were busy with the children putting coins and picking up their drinks.

It is quite popular with lot of Chinese people.

Re: A Trip to the land of merlion and twin towers

The flight was on time and landed at Terminal 3 in the Singapore airport.
I had to change over to the terminal 2 for the metro train to go to the city.
I had a hotel booking near Little India and had to change over the metro at two
places to reach my hotel.
First Interchange was Tanah Merah station and second interchange at Outram park.
The charges of the Metro is between 2-4 SGD depending on the station and distance.
After a quick freshening up in the room went to the Singapore flyer.
