Lovely start there tanveer , did I read somewhere 55GB of pictures ? Well the photos are mind blowing pal and trust me I wouldn't have had the patience to carry a tripod when on such a trip.

BTW its 23kgs when you travel to Europe. Am hooked to this thread .

Nope, all the pics were from D7000, however I will put up a few from the FZ-35. It was used mostly for videos

Yes its 23kgs. And yes its 55GB of pics with around 1 GB videos.
I think only around 300-400 out of those 2500 are worth posting

We have landed in Vienna, or Wein as its called in the local language.
Immigration takes about 10 seconds, we say Guten Tag, and Danke, and the counter women says, welcome to Vienna, have a good time.
No interviews.
No being taken to rooms with Mr. McDonald asking 500 questions of why what where.
Did your Great Grandfather ever do a crime?
Will your children's children ever do a crime?

Its very different from the US of A.
We are already liking it.

We arrive at our baggage collection area, and go for the trolleys.
First hindrance.
You cannot get a trolly for free. Well, its free, but you have to insert a 25p or 1$ or 1E or 1CHF of 50p coin get the trolly, and if you return it to a designated parking slot, the trolly will give you back your coin.

A simple system. The visitor does not feel shortchanged, and they do not have the hassle of looking for trollies left here and there.

But we have notes, no coins.
Its not a problem.
All I have to do like they do in many Western cities. A bunch of people will sing a song, strum a guitar on the street, and people will drop coins into their hats.
So getting coins is easy.
All I have to do is take out my Guitar, and sing. Money will come into the Hat.

But I do not have a Guitar.
I do not have a hat.
And even if I had them, I would get eggs and tomatos since I can't sing to save my life.

So its time for plan B. Backpacks(laptop and camera) on our back, and roll the suitcases. Really heavy suitcases.

Our destination is not the taxi stand. Taxi costs money.
Our destination is the bus stop.
Its pronounced Bous - "u" like you do in Bush.

Remember, do not go for Post Bus. Thats the inter city Bous. you want regular Bus.

In halting, completely broken German, my wife finds out the location of the Bus Stop, and we are out in the open.

Its a bright sunny morning, and there is a fire somewhere.
Oh wait, its not a fire, everybody is smoking. Old men, Old women, young men, young women, infants in strollers, all of them are smoking outside.

And none of them speak English.
Those who do are tourists like us.

Again, time for wife to step in. Good I asked her to pick up some German online a month before the trip.

A kind German gentleman speaks English, but does not know where is the city bus. But no problem, he acts as our translator, and we get to know that we can get a 1.8 EU train to the city center(West Bahnof), a 8 EU very fast train to the West Bahnof or a 1.8 EU Bous to the city center (All prices per person).

The Bous stop is the nearest, and we go to the Bous.

Luggage is kept in the Bous luggage area, and we are ready to roll.
But, the ticket machine inside the Bous has gone faulty. So the driver says something to everybody. Everybody smiles. My wife understands only one word which means "free".
Another kind family tells us that since ticket machine is faulty, we go for free. Getting it fixed now would mean schedules will go off, and then people will miss their trains and connections.

So its Free!

We already love Wein!

It takes almost an hour to reach the West Bahnof, where we are directed towards the Tram and Subway station.

That's where the Google Translate App on you android mobile phone would have proved ingenious. You just needed to speak/enter "where is the regular bus station" into your phone, and it would have spitted out "wo ist die regelmäßige Bus-Bahnhof" and also spoken it through your phone's speaker, for them. Quite invaluable on those foreign trips, I would say.
