Amazing write-up, Santosh! Superbly written and some wonderful images. Makes me want to pack up and leave right away

So finally got Leh'd eh? I am hoping that I can do it next year at least. Hopefully will be on an Impulse. But glad to know that the CBR performed wonderfully without any issues.

Some pics are truly wallpaper material.

Looks straight out of a postcard/painting and life seems to have come to a stop. Natural beauty at its best huh?

I'm thinking of renting a KTM and riding this circuit. Lets see how it goes.

Thanks for sharing.

Excellent trip and thread. Simply great.

It may have been easier with bikes other than the CBRs, but then again, why not?

Awesome ride pics! Good ride report.

Would you be able to share the transport and their contact details through which you sent your bikes back?

Seems a better option than sending it through regular truck transport who just dump anything and everything over your bike and the other option of railways..

Wonderful writeup. Pics say a lot about the places you rode. Can't even think some adorable, jawdropping places still exists in India. Hats off for your courage and kudos to the cycle and FZ guy. Driving alone on these places..eh!!

Just curious, did you people carry some GPS devices?

There are lot of transporters like that who take cars like Hyundai sends cars from chennai plant to North india while coming back they come empty, so they carry bikes or cars who want to transport.
I will find the visiting card of theirs and post it over here.

Yeah, that's a nice bike to ride in those terrains but would it not be a tad underpowered? Also, is the Impulse available for hire?

Yeah, tad underpowered but if you have somebody coming in car, then dump all the luggage into it, then Impulse would be super fun to ride.

Impulse are available for rent.

BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO..

Stunning and an Epic trip. Congrats to all you guys. I was listening to 'Shine on your Crazy Diamond' by Floyd as I was going thru the pics. Perfect accompaniment to the superb invigorating pictures.

Thank you for the wonderful experience. Superb.

Re: 6 riders, 4000 kms - A glimpse of Spiti and Leh from a Biker horizon

Many congratulations rksans and team. Thanks for sharing the experience. My 2 cents on bike transportation.
I recently had to transport my bullet from Trivandrum to Hyd. When I did my research, I found that people were complaining least about railways,so chose them. The bike arrived in good condition. Shipping , delivery part also was smooth.

If you can be present for loading/ unloading, and if there is a train starting from where you want to ship from and ending where you want to ship to, then railways is the best.

All this depends on your luck. Our bikes were loaded in front of us and delivered in front of my friend but still had to bear the brunt of damages. Thinking about this, the tank gets a huge pothole right in the middle from upper side. Do not know what these transportation guys do.
I have decided hence forth, i will take couple of days extra leave and ride it wherever it is to. Just peace of mind.

Santosh,
Should say one of the best TL's that I have read in some time to come. Very nice pictorial depiction of your wonderful trip. A pity that i could not do owing to some personal reasons. Have rated it a well deserved 5Star.
Waiting for you to upload the videos and can you share the details of map on a spread sheet? Guess now there is a trip to NE only pending eh!!!

Regarding your transportation woes an old HD ad line comes to mind
