No, we did not go to the beach. It was getting dark, and Civvy on the other bank, made me return faster

Lalu, hope you didn't go looking for Kalavara whle you were in TVM. Its not there in the original location at Pulimoodu, any more. Only the Kawdiar one exists now.

Any good place in B'lore for Mallu food ? I will be there for almost 10 days from 18th Dec

I did no t go in search of Kalavara this time.

Bangalore, I have not ventured out since the crowd and traffic turns me off. But I remember going to Koshys some 15 years ago and loved their food.'Heard Mohanlal has some seafood restaurant somewhere. Never tried them.

Got up to a wonderful morning. No rains in the horizon, birds flying around - it looked definitely beautiful.

The rising sun decided to paint the sky, and let me run to get my camera.

I clicked the sky and this is what I got, The lens got fogged up due to the temperature difference between the room and outside. Outside was quite humid!


Sunrise was an amazing sight to behold

I sat on the sit out reading my book, PPGs were still sleeping. I had the time to myself and got lost in the world of words for sometime....

By 08:00AM we got out for our breakfast and the next adventure.

It is a pity that the resort has nothing much in their activity center. The pool is nice, but small for the place. It is a full crowd in there, what is the fun.

Also the boat rides are very highly priced. We wanted to try and get a ride for the day, the costs switched us off - it was definitely at a 5X premium - A boat ride around Monroe Island we could do for Rs 300/ full family - while the resort wanted 2100 plus tax for the same!!!


So there is nothing much that can be organised in the resort for the day. So we decided to go out again. We will visit Monroe Island on our own and do some other visits as well.


After breakfast we strolled around the resort for sometime, while I was making a plan for the day

We drove south towards Kundara in search of Monroe Island by road.

Just after crossing the Neendakara Bridge, a sudden flash of idea struck me.

How often have we crossed this bridge? Innumerable.
Have I ever seen Neendakara Harbour - NO. Why not now? Well Why Not!!

So went to the Southern Harbour since we had already crossed the bridge.

Some of the fishermen told us to go to the North harbour as bidding will be still going on there. South side bidding and arrival of catch happens quite early in the morning. So we decided to visit the North harbour too.

Neendakara

Neendakara is a village in Kollam district 9 km north of Kollam city in Kerala, India. It is Kollam district's intermediate fishing port.

When Portuguese traders settled in Kollam (then Quilon) in the early 16th century, their ships passed through the Neenadakara bar, now the site of Neendakara Bridge, part of National Highway 47, which connects the village to Shakthikulangara across Ashtamudi Lake. In Malayalam, Neendakara means "a long bank".

The headquarters of the Indo-Norwegian Fisheries Community project, established in 1953, was based in Neendakara until 1961, when the site was handed over to the Government of Kerala.

Neendakara is one of the prime port locations in Kerala. It is a strategic small port located in the East-West International Sea route. Also Neendakara is famous for its Fishing Harbour and related Marine export oriented businesses.

Once we reached Kollam, I checked the time. It was still around 9ish only. Why not we drive to Kappil and see its beauty and on return go to Kundara via Kottiyam. That sounded nice. So we drove on the NH to Paravur

We reached Kappil around 10:00AM.

Paravur reminded me of Maravanthe.
