Ladakh indeed is heaven on earth. I had gone there with 4 other school buddies in 2001.
Took a bus till Manali and planned to go to Tabo but as the Kunzum pass was closed for buses, we looked at a map and thought 'lets try ladakh'...

and we were then on the next bus to Keylong...3 days of roasting in the sun and drinking chang and then on to Leh via bara lach a, tang lang la and of course, Pang City....

Next time I'd love to do the trip by driving there myself....

great pics guys.....! brings back memories of that beautiful land...

Great one. Awesome pic

The place looks too good to be true. Are some pics digitally enhanced ?? They just look too perfect!

Thinking of making a similar trip but was wondering where would I get bikes from? Anywhere in Delhi where ppl lease out bikes?
I know these gora's make such trips all the time, so where do they get the bikes from??!

thanks zaphod and triggercool

srikantans04 Some of the pics were sharpened and contrast adjusted after resizing. As for renting motorcycles, you can get them for rent from Delhi, Manali and even in Leh. For more details regarding rent procedure and costs involved etc. check out this link http://www.bcmtouring.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=157

Had a fantastic ride, 18days 3865kms of solo riding over some of the roughest terrain known to mankind. This was the route that I took:

Day1: Delhi – Chandigargh – Manali

Day2: Manali – Keylong – Darcha – Sarchu

Day3: Sarchu – Pang – Upshi – Leh

Day4: Leh – Thiksey – Leh

Day5: Leh – Karu – Chang La – Tangste – Lukung – Spangmik – Lukung (Pangong Tso)

Day6: Lukung – Tangste – Chang La – Karu – Leh

Day7: Leh – Upshi – Chumathang – Tso Moriri – Korzok

Day8: Korzok – Tso Moriri – Korzok

Day9: Korzok – Chumathang – Upshi – Leh

Day10: Leh – Lamayuru – Kargil

Day11: Kargil – Sanko – Parakachik – Rangdum (Suru Valley)

Day12: Rangdum – Penzi La – Padum (Zanskar Valley)

Day13: Padum (Zanskar Valley)

Day14: Padum – Penzi La – Rangdum

Day15: Rangdum – Sanko – Kargil – Drass

Day16: Drass – Zoji La – Sonamarg – Srinagar

Day17: Srinagar – Jammu – Pathankot

Day18: Pathankot – Phagwada – Ropar – Chandigarh – Ambala – Delhi

Clocking 3865kms over some of the roughest terrain in the world and still my bike did what she does best, powered her way through each and every thing. She gave quite a good overall mileage of 42 kms per liter of petrol and the best mileage that I got was an amazing 48.36kilometers to a liter!!! Not at all bad for a four and half year old Bajaj Pulsar 180 Classic, which has clocked roughly 50k kms over the years!

Here are some photos of the ride, detail trip log will come soon...
