Fresh air isn't too far: Devarayanadurga, a Photologue

I had recently stumbled upon a borrowed quote in Whatsapp which read, 'It is our choices, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities'. It was during this time when a parallel discussion sprung up for a one day trip on a weekend from Bangalore.

"How far does one go to experience some peace and bliss?" was the million dollar question. There definitely is an able car in the backyard with which we may easily cover a 400+km trip in a day. But what's more important is to chose what really fits the bill, without compromising on the choice. It was Devarayanadurga this time, around 70+ kms from Bangalore.

Time: 7.30 am to ~5 pm
Breakfast: Kamat, Lunch: Pavitra Hotel, famous for Tatte Idli
Toll Charges (excluding NICE Road) ~100 INR.

Route:
Bangalore, Nelamangala, Dabaspet, Devarayanadurga, Tumkur, Bangalore.

Places visited: Devarayandurga, Namada Chilume

Beautiful pictures !! The overcast skies in Bangalore since the last few days make a day trip to these destinations a must.

Inspires me to make a trip to DD Hills soon, before monsoon sets in full fledged.

Thanks All. @Ravi, Surely is well worth spending a day to this destination.

Roads are under construction for some distance though (`5 kms intermittent stretches) and is slightly risky if taking a bike. So there is a need to watch out after the deviation from Dabaspet.

If you guys are looking at only visiting the peak and not temple, then try to make it early before the sun rises. Its gets quite hot then. But that should not be the case these times (as the sun hardly rises!). The temples opens only by 9:30/10.

Having said that a sunrise from this vantage point makes it very nice view. I have been here multiple times, but still there always a one more time!
