In that case you better post the images fast srini. Any later and you will be just left viewing the pictures .

Even I am having a tough time choosing which pictures to upload. You are right about similar pictures -- just different cars, cameras, people.

Ok, here's a try on some of the pictures of cars in groups -- hopefully not repeats :-).

My small writeup and the pics.

Thanks Abhi for nice writeup and sharing with all here. Here's my experience, of course with pics.

Preparation and starting: Discussed with Bombatt the previous day about the meeting point and the route we have to take till Hotel Pavithra in Kyathsandra. Got up at 4.00 am and started get ready/ Had bath. Now the most difficult thing is waking of the kids, getting them ready and put them in car. Somehow managed this in just 15 mins. Started from my home at 4.50 am. Met Bombatt on Magadi road who were waiting for us. Then we proceeded towards NICE road and touched Tumkur Road within no time. Traffic was very less in the morning. Reached Hotel Pavithra by 6.25 am. Aah!! we were the first to reach this place. The hotel was getting cleaned during that time. The usual business at hotel started at soon after cleaning. People strarted pouring in and by 7.30 am we had the whole team, finished b/fast and then headed towards our destination. Rest of the trip is mentioned by Abhi in his write up.

Coming back from Resort to Bangalore: Started at 11.00 am on 16/11/08 and reached home by 12.35 am (17/11/08). Was dead tired, and hit the bed immly as I had to go to office the next day.

Some stats: The total distance covered by me was 713 kms (house to house). My vehicle had gulped around 42 ltrs of Petrol. The FE was 16.97/ltr. Used AC around 60% of the trip.

The highlights of this trip are: The drive especially in ghats (Malnad region), the resort, the bonafire, the boat ride, the photography and the drive back home.

Recommendation: Highly recommended for others to visit this place. People who want to be alone and Perfect place for honeymoon.

Now here's some of the pics. Enjoy maadi...

Now there is a very big advantage of being the last person in a convoy of cars.

One big advantage is that you can stop at anytime without waiting for others and spend a minute or two to soak in the nature & surroundings. And then when you are done you can speed up and catch up easily with others.

If you are in the front or middle then if you stop, everyone will stop and that two minute break will turn into a 20 minute break :-)

Here are some of the pictures I took while I was driving the last in the convoy and had stopped couple of times in between.

Small correction here - the Cochin-based D R I V Es are always in convoy with designated lead and sweeper cars.

Still catching up with the thread - looks great so far, more in detail later.

Waah!!! I come late and you guys have posted all pictures!!
Now what do I write or post about??

Convoy?
What Convoy?

That was only on the onward trip.
Return trip had only 4 cars out of 8 returning as scheduled.

WHY?

WHY?

Perez has all the answers.

Shahnawaz, this in my opinion is the last pic before the "Showstopper"

So far I processed just 20 shots, rest tomorrow.

When I saw everybody in water and far from me, I decided to switch to 50-200mm, to get the 400mm EFL advantage. Most people couldn't make out they were being photographed, which is good in a way.

AKRoy is ready for the photo, but the Mrs couldn't locate the photographer.

@Hari: 4 cars or 8 cars, we came back to Bangalore in convoy itself maintaining the same sequence Abhi, Mjothi, myself and as usual khan giving us cover last.

We are waiting for the showstopper...Do post all the group pics you have taken. Already my better half is asking for these pics.

Yes. I think we spent some 1 - 1.5 hrs washing the cars. Would love to see pictures of all of us washing the cars and mjothi being forced to wash his horribly dirty car. Most of us had not had a bath or even brushed our teeth or had morning tea and there we were washing the cars like neighborhood car cleaners.

I am sure the pictures of all cars after the wash have come out good. Here is my attempt at car photography after seeing all of you try it before me:-)
