Congratulations to all FAV FIVE (I have been named you Favourite Five) on your drive. This type of drive is most of the hardcore drivers dream, even it is mine also. But very few of them, like all you FAV FIVE make it real, absolute real which will set benchmark for others. I only can imagine what amount of planning, coordination, courage, determination would require to complete this feat.

Heartiest Congratulations to you all.

By that logic it would be complete only when Ramky reaches Ahmedabad.

25th Dec 4am

When people are getting ready to have fun for the X-Mas, I load my baggages and stuffs in my Aveo. The Aveo rolls on the dark with the beam of lights guiding it. Reach Hebbal Flyover around 4:35am. When I was about to take the mini-OTR spot to reach Hrag's appartment, I get a call from our Yellow Palio S10 (Khan).

Palio already reached the spot and was waiting along with the Safari. I think no need to mention explicitly whose Safari is this!!!

I tell them I will be there in 5 min and reach the appartments. Park the Aveo next to Palio S10. Unload Aveo and load Safari. We all get in the Safari. Note the time, ODO and we are all set to go.

25th Dec 4:45am
Safari reverses and starts the first step (should I mention first rotation of wheels?), get to the main road. Take the Service lane and take the underpass. And take the Hebbal flyover and starting to head to the GQ.

Although we were expecting lorry traffic, never expected such a huge Jam. There was a deadlock in the BEL Circle.

But we were quick enough to take the Jalahalli road and join the NH4.

Then after a while we reach the first Toll.

At this time, we never knew how many toll we are yet to pay for the next 6days. I will update the total number of operational tolls on GQ shortly along with Finances.

Even when there is one pair of t-bhpian eyes on road, it will spot new cars or scoops. Imagine having 3 pairs and on a GQ. Yes, we did spot some good vehicles, inventions, competitor for Nano (and good news is its lauched and running all over!!!) and what not.

First we saw many white colored Ashok Leyland Buses. The highlight is, its a LHD for exports. Here it is for your eyes.

I think the toll roads in Karantaka has a lots of sub-way and sky walk for the pedestrians. This greatly helps to keep a constant speed above 80-90kmph.

Our smart people does a great roads, puts the speed limit like 80 and even 100. But forgets one thing. They fill it with bumps and humps everywhere. not just that, most of the places where you have a small bridges on the road, the road is never the same level as the concrete on the bridges. Its either the roads are above the road level of Bridge or vice versa.

Should I mention which locaiton is this? Yes, you are right, its our Chitradurga stretch.

GQ Drive: 2vehicles, 4meets, 5bhpians, 6days, 13states, 6000KMs.-img_5688.jpg

I need to mention this here for others who take this route for the Pune/Mumbai.

Once you cross around 220kms from the Neelamangala Toll (or 75KMs after the Chitradurga rail road cross), watch for the stupid design like I mentioned above. You will have a small bump followed by the intersection of the road in the bridge. Actually we could not notice this and we experiance a jump here. Since we were in reasonable speeds, not any damage. But in case someone takes it above 100, they are in trouble.

Now coffee break. Stopped our Safari in a place called Highway Palace which comes in the left side of the road after Davengere. Had decent tea.

Fresh tea helped us to cruise on the GQ and then we cross the Hubli Toll. We were in search of a breakfast stop. We saw a Vithal Kamat after the Toll and stoped there.

Recommendation : Never ever try this one. The food, if available, is not at all good. At the max, you can have coffee / tea. Thats it.

I guess this is where our first live update started with the help of Hari (LukeSkyWalker)

P.S. We will loads of pics of the roads, provided you do not ask us which location it is taken from
