Bangalore to Jajpur Road (1620 Km in 25 Hours)

I had planned for this trip around 6 months back. However when my family came to know about it they did not allow me to drive alone. Yes i was planning to drive alone as i do not want my family(especially my 2 year kid) travel long distance in car. After lot of conversation with my parents got green signal to drive down. Original plan was to drive on 20th Dec(Saturday Morning), but finished my work 1 day before and thought of starting on 19th Dec Morning. Filled car tank and cheked presuure and came back to home for sleep. That night could not get sleep and finally packed everything and left at 2:00AM. Started from Bannerghatta Road and moved towards Hoskote. Now moved to NH4 and drive slowly as it's single lane and lot of diversions and trucks. Stopped for a cigarette break at chittor and then left again. I got couple of really bad ditches, so not cruising more than 100 on this road. Reached Naidupet at around 7AM. Now i'm driving on NH5 and road condition is pretty good. So just pressed accelerator hard most of time and maximum speed i attained here is 165 KMPH.Stopped again for one cig break at Ongole. I did not have much cash in my hand. Searching for ATM on BYPASS and finally i got into Guntur and get cash. I lost around an hour in Guntur. Then moved on to NH5 and cruised on, had some Idlis there too. To my bad luck there was a road block ( i do not remeber the place though). However this block was not for more than 15 minutes. Moved on and had some lunch at around 3PM (Do not remeber place name but near to Rajhmundry i think). Again back to Driving and at around 6PM iwas at VIZAG. It took me around 1 hour to cross VIZAG due to traffic and i'm not sure whether ther is a bypass to cross this city. Moved on and reached Near IChhapuram at around 10PM. Here i should have took a left turn to go to ichhapuram, but i went straight as that road was like NH5, but this left turn to ichhapuram is like hell. I found only one ESAAR petrol pump in my entire journey near ichhapuram, filled tank there and then stopped at Ganjam.Got some PANand again left for Jajpur Road which is another 240 KM form there. Road from Ichhapuram till Balugaon(around 100 KM took me approx 3-4 hours) was not good and it does not look like a NH5. After Balugaon Roads gets better and again got my sped back. It was quite fuggy at around 1AM near Cuttack, had to press hard brakes beacuse of very low visibility. Reached safely at my home at 3AM and everybody was waiting for me at my home. At the end i felt happy after reaching safely at my home. Will be posting pictures soon.

Very nice. Glad the roads didn't spoil too much of your trip.

Good pics. 1620 kms in 25 hrs is simply great. Was it a not stop drive or you have taken any quick naps in between? What about the return journey? Are you still in Jajpur?

It's doable as major part of it is done on GQ, 4 lane divided road. One can easily maintain a 75-80 kmph average in these streches, if not more.

But definitely the endurance is commendable. I am sure I won't be able to do it, as I will feel sleepy and will be risking mine and others life if I continue to drive.

This is simply awesome. Great drive. Shows that the GQ has brought a sea-change in road travel times. From the road condition, it seems that you can sustain 3 digit speeds at a stretch. What was the max you hit?
