| beautiful istanbul continued... Hello dear Friends. I must apologise about the delay in posting this, but i have been really busy. So, here's another installment of pictures from the beautiful and mesmerizing city of istanbul.  The walls of the Topkapi Palace near Gulhane Park. Inside there's a museum too!  Huge trees and Huge walls!  I have no idea what they do? Do u?  The museum entrance, but i didnt go in. Now i ask myself.. WHY WHY?  This is the Haga Sophia, legend says that it was a church and then conquered by Muslim rulers, made into a mosque, but now it is just a tourist spot. No religious activity.  A byzantine era stone.  No caption required here. hehe...  I was wandering all alone now,eating shawarmas. Another mosque.  This is the world famous Blue Mosque, the largest in istanbul!  A structure at the entrance.  Pigeons pigeons everywhere...  Zoomed view of a minaret.  Going into the blue mosque...  Nice Flora  Another view of the Haga Sophia  Blue Mosque  One of the two flower sculptures at the entrance.  Big Minar.  Inside the Blue Mosque. This is the open area in the mosque.  Inside the mosque now, you can see the tourists sitting. Allowed only up to a certain point.  People from all over. |

| Final installment from istanbul! This is the final set of pictures from Istanbul. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Turkey!  A miniature model of the mosque, stunning. Made of metals... (i dont know which?)  The big fountain in the gardens.  Another small mosque nearby  Name of the mosque. Camii=mosque  Another beautiful piece of Ottoman architecture.  and another...  View of the SULTAN AHMED from atop our hotel.  Night view of another mosque.  This is probably the waters of bosphorous and a mosque on its banks.  Touching the sky  This particular structure was intimidating... HUGE!  The Bosporous bridge!!! Stunning in the nights.  Another view  Shewarma anyone?  The final pic, So we say goodbye to Turkey and head to SWITZERLAND!!! I wasnt so excited as my wife wasnt with me on this. :-( NEXT: Brrrrrrrrrr! SWISS! |

I was mostly busy in the city and my hotel room, it was damn cold!! The food and the jacuzi were better than snow! Anyways, if you guys say, i'll post whatever pics i have taken. Just for BHPians.. Let me tell you guys first that my hotel was atop a hill near Aigle (small town near Leysin [LAYSAWN]), we had to rely heavily on trains (we had a rail pass), and it took a good 2 hours just to reach any city from our village. But spending those few days in country had its good side- the VIEWS! Yes, the sceneries were absolutely stunning! Clouds, Mountains, Greenery all were very beautiful! So, here goes... (please don't mind the quality as its my old canon 7MP) The first mountain as viewed from the train  The first views from my balcony as we settled into our rooms, it was FREEEEZING!!! (negative temperatures, i guess!) Beautiful Isn't it?  ...and in a few minutes, beautiful turns grey!  full zoom from my small camera, this is probably the closest i got to the snow there!  The first day in switzerland ended in this, this happened right in front of my eyes, within half hour i guess, its now i realized our hotel was on high altitude and things can change pretty quick!  Next morning, friends in woods! Still cold, but a little clear!  View from the toy train we had to take to climb the mountain for our hotel, 30 min. up , 30 min. down everyday!  Another one from the toy train.  No Zoom.  Down from the mountain, This is the station from where we decide which city to visit, as we could get only one train from our hotel (down the hill!)
