Man that is one beautiful place. The lake's just amazing and you've captured it well. Just the place to unwind for a few days.

I never expected the place would be so good to visit. TRTraj - good information. Valparai is one of the best places to visit for a short trips.

lordofgondor, Reserve your accommodation before you travel. And there is a new resort coming up next to Redhills, Check whether that is giving you better price

I believe you have replied wrongly in this thread instead of my Valparai one. Isn't it?

I am planning to book a place at Redhills resort as there has been wonderful response about that place. I dont think my car(Optra) can make this far on this road. Should we leave our vehicles downhill?
And also any info about this new resort?

I was tempted to say these are fake pics of some location in EU

That place is seriously good!

Thanks for info.

Thanks for sharing. I had been to Red Hills in late 2008...brings back nice memories. We also climbed up that hill behind the resort.

An Optra should be able to make it with some careful driving. We did see a family make it all the way in their Ford Ikon, if that comforts you Alternately, the owners can arrange for a parking in Ooty and a pick up/drop as well.

Enjoy!!

Been to Red Hills, amazing food and place. We went in December and it was about 4-5 degrees. Lovely! Plan on staying there again.

Re: Weekend Exploration in an unexplored resort

Went to Emerald dam last weekend in Optra. It has rained and the road was full of large potholes. Optra scraped at a few places and I didnt want to take risk any further and hence drove back with disappointment. This was the farthest we went.
