Wow! Are you serious? I thought you'd put that comment only for a tease.
Anyway, any bugger who owns such a liner, is bound to have two choppers and some speedboats on them!
It would be strange to see tycoons wading the deepsea in lifeboats!

And the late night show doesn't look anything like a late night show!
Rather the next morning I see some half naked guys!

It's still ON, but post-marriage, the destinations are mostly close to Bangalore.

But I'm slowly getting inspired by MX6, ADC etc who have gone long distance road-trotting with their wife and kid.

Maybe we'll do a Sikkim trip sometime in the future. We had planned to do it in 2007, but it was cancelled because a few guys dropped out.

Bring it on!

Rajasthan Trip Continued:

Pic 1: At the town of Murud, we turn left and head towards the sea.

Pic 2: Coastal Maharashtra is wet in middle of summer?

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00233.jpg

Pic 3: We obviously like the weather!

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00243.jpg

Pic 4: We spot the ocean finally.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00246.jpg

Pic 5: Murud Janjira Fort is in the middle of the ocean! You need a boat to get to the Fort. We keenly peer into the ocean to see if we can spot the Fort.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00256.jpg

Pic 6: And we do. And we didn't know it was so far into the ocean.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00754.jpg

Pic 7: This is the closest we could get to, from the road. Murud Janjira Fort has been an impregnable fort, that is, it has never been conquered by the attacking forces.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00756.jpg

Pic 8: For those who haven't been to Murud Janjira, do check out Google Images. We notice a large queue for the boats taking tourists to the Fort.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05655.jpg

Pic 9: We realized that if we stay at this place for more time, we might be late for the wedding in Surat. We have snacks and leave for Mumbai..

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05652.jpg

Pic 10: .. soaking in the scenery.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05653.jpg

Pic 11 & 12: Sunset at Murud Janjira.

Very nice. The fort in the ocean was also posted in another thread, which is when it got my attention for the first time. I remember the writer said, when there were high tides you cannot reach there. Did you try venturing?

PS: I hope I am talking about the same fort !

Ali_G has written a much better travelogue to Murud Janjira with a lot better photos
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...photoblog.html

We didn't try venturing there because we were short of time - we had a wedding to get to in Surat and we had planned to see Daman.

From Bangalore, it is quicker and shorter to get to Murud Janjira from Kolhapur (NH4). But at the last moment, we decided to drive down to Goa and then get to Murud Janjira - because we had not seen the Goa - Mumbai road. That cost us a few hours.

Pic 1: We reach Mumbai. The toll booth guy happy to see a KA registered car and speaks to us in Kannada.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00855.jpg

Pic 2: We spot a Hummer gingerly going over a tiny road hump like a delicate darling, while other vehicles flew past. We have a hearty laugh.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00861.jpg

Pic 3: We stopover for the night somewhere on Mumbai - Surat NH8. The next day in the morning, we spread out our trusty half-torn India map to make the driving plan for the day.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05672.jpg

Pic 4: Jagga grows horns when he takes over the wheel.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05679.jpg

Vid 1: On NH8 - 30 second video. I'm driving, Naveen holds the camera, Binny maintains the accounts (expenses, who paid etc) while Jagga reads Tinkle comics.

Pic 5: We reach Vapi and turn left towards Daman. We straight away ask for the "beach". After following the directions to the dot, we get lost.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05680.jpg

Pic 6: We finally get to the beach, which is unlike any other we've seen. You have to walk for over a kilometre on the beach to get to the water.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05691.jpg

Pic 7: Sand is mixed with clay - so it is hard. Hard enough to drive a car on the beach.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00290.jpg

Pic 8: But authorities had put up a big board warning visitors not to drive on the beach. So obviously, we drop the idea.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00292.jpg

Pic 9: This beach looks a lot of Rann of Kutch. Even when we get to the water, it is very shallow. You will have to walk another 2 kilometres before you start drowning.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00295.jpg

Pic 10 & 11: The place is too hot and the clay is sticky. So we find a nice bench under a tree.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05690.jpg

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05683.jpg

Pic 12: We have some drinks (me, the fizzy type) and food at the restaurant closeby and head towards Surat.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00898.jpg

Pic 13: Before leaving, Naveen decides to clip his toe-nails so as to look "decent" for the wedding.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05692.jpg

Pic 14: We enter Surat city. If my wife ever desires to see the Eiffer Tower, I'll just get her to Surat and save some money!

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00916.jpg

Pic 15: Neveen wants to put his best foot forward at the wedding, just in case he meets any girls there. So he even gets a haircut!

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc05696.jpg

Pic 16: We have a hearty Gujju meal at the wedding. It's sweet (literally) and I like it. We are ready to drive 1500 km if offered a free meal!

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00320.jpg

Pic 17: After the wedding, we drive down towards Ahmedabad.

100,000 kms on Indian Highways, 6 treks & a Couple of Flights-dsc00325.jpg

The close-up of the feet is a big turn off.
And now I get it as to how you travelled 100,000 kms. You've been reading the map upside down, like in the picture. No wonder!

Well, personally I don't have any preference for Katrina. But you guys set the expectations high with that photo of the late night tv show!

Will definitely try it some time. The "foot"-note is amazing?
A prized possession?

One more foot photo, in Surat.

And before you ask, NO. We don't have our "talks" like this all the time.
