The straighted heron is actually a Black Capped Night Heron. Nice pictures by the way. I am a birder and this is definitely a 'must visit' for me.

Thanks. Its an incremental knowledge. Being a birder, you should visit at the earliest and prefer early morning.

Did they give you life jackets? When we went last month, no-one gave us any, nor did I see anyone wearing it.

That I guess is after the Thekkady tragedy. Any way what the life jacket will if one gets into the hands (or rather mouth) of a croc !

You're right ampere, we've seen 8 footers there. Only god can save us in any tragedy.

Awesome. Nice pics and a paradise for bird photography. I guess it's time for me to visit and use the new lens that I bought for my camera. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! Its my 3 year old Fuji S5600 cam. It gives me decent results in day light (not good for night photography)
