Hey TB, how come there's no photo of M Block market of GK II? That's my favourite haunt 10 years back.
Yet to take photos of GK 2 - M Block. Last time I was there, did not get good angles. Plus there are too many hot women around to be able to aim camera without distraction.

Brings back so many old memories - it was deja vu to see the HeMan & GIJOE & Wonder Years photo. Kept looking at the photos and kept smiling

Painstakingly done by you. Thanks !! Rating this a 5 star and sharing it with other friends.
Varun, I am touched by that comment of yours! I did it painstakingly indeed. It was past 12 pm today and hadn't slept since i started work on it at 6 pm yesterday.

The only memory I have of the music cassette is the player chewing up the tape!
As 'ampere' has rightly mentioned below, Delhi has the best of Independent Houses at Def Col, GK 1, 2, Friends Colony, Southex and so on.

I am told that Nirulas have re-designed themselves in a different way and are still popular. There used be one icecream parlour in CP called Cafe 100 which used to serve a product called Milkfood 100%.

There are still many independent houses in Delhi unlike other cities. But new developments (read Gurgaon/Noida) are all flats. Unless one wants to shell a few crores to buy those independent houses called villas.
There are many places in Delhi which I have yet to photograph.

A Sequel will be there if fate permits.

Here is a food gallery - Strictly Delhi Special

I guess you meant the GK 1 M Block market, not GK 2

Yes Nazim. Most of us in our age group have been through this kind of Chronovisions with GIJOE, He Man and Doordarshan etc.

Just that in this case certain things were unique to Delhi.

Five stars from me basu. Brought back some old memories of Delhi. Even I grew up in Delhi, but haven't been there for the past 12 years. Will do a trip sometime soon.

There used to be two govt. guest houses one in Neeti Bagh (Khel Gaon Marg) and one in Asiad Village. The place was I would say way ahead of its times. Very nice to walk around. During my school days, used to frequent that area many times.

Don't know, if it still exists in the same state.

And not to mention Nai Sarak for the books!

Loved the Chronovisions TB, especially the photos of yesteryears. I have always fantasized about the Delhi of the bygone era. If you see movies like Chashmebaduur or Masoom they show you a Delhi which is so different and much more beautiful than today mad rush NCR.

People walking with a transistor glued to their ear rather than catching live updates on their blackberry. Children Gathering and playing cricket in the street in the evening rather than playing PS3 in their rooms all day. When gathering friends would mean going door to door, knocking and asking "Aunty.. Pappu hain?" rather than giving a missed call. Where DTC bus was a standard mode of transport and car was a luxury only the rich could afford.

The wide roads of Raisina hills, Shantipath, Teen Moorti, Gyarah Moorti, the entire mughal lineage in the form of Babar Road, Humayun road, Akbar road, Aurangzeb road, Shahjahan Road, the foreign named Joseph Broz Tito marg, Kemal Ataturk marg, Curzon road (Now Kasturbha Gandhi Marg), Kirby Place, Mansingh road, Prithviraj road.. I love it all.

Thanks Tirthankar!!
