The temple's name is Thanumalayan temple and the name stands for the holy trinity.
Thanu - Brahma
Mal - Vishnu
Ayan - Shiva
Apart from the huge Hanuman, the temple also houses the female Ganesha (vigneshwari) and geetopadesha statue.
There are claims that this is the only temple in India where the holy trinity are housed and worshipped. But Triambak has a shiva ling which houses the holy trinity in linga form.
Thanks MX for the updated info. We could not see the hanuman statue from outside too, the boundary wall is very high may be 15 to 20 feet high. Prayed from outside only.

Re: Vacation in a Vacation : Discovering Kerala - A Photologue

I know this is a very old thread, but has anyone gone to Kumarakom, especially the Bird Sanctuary in the recent past?

What would you recommend in terms of times to visit, any specific places to go inside, bird hotspots etc? Also, are there any naturalists/guides to help find the birds for photography?
