Yeah.. It was fun from the Day 1.
The only guy missing out on that pic is my younger bro, who was the camera eye.
To the right is my family, to the left is my Bro's In-laws. Standing in the centre is my Father-in-law.:D
The flight took almost 3 hours. The sleep deprived kids were full charged up when the flight took off... They brought the house down, but that lasted only 30 mins, later the sleep goddess descended and they were off to sleep.
The skies were beautiful and clear.
10:00 am we get out of IGI airport and our Driver Pankaj Singh was waiting for us (with the Force Traveller, this travels is run by a Bangalore guy by name
Vincent Lobo-09312640072 of Lobo tours and Travels) Very accomodating guy with reasonable fare and a good vehicle. The drivers are exceptional and Honest, more than that, they know the Himachal Sector by the back of their hands.:thumbs up
We loaded our luggage and were taken to India Gate first for our Picnic Lunch (we had packed food from home for the first day) We had fun here too....
nice shots pawan. India gate daytime too looks crowded, not to say about nights. one of my preferred destination its even more beautiful at night with the entire raj path road illuminated.
waiting for more.
Great Day 1 i should say Pavan. Also you got a really well maintained Force Tempo Traveller or is it a brand new one (checked the number plate). The interiors look like DC design :D
Hey Pavan,
I knew you had a good time!:) But the pictures are putting it all together! Glued to this thread! Waiting for updates!clap:

He he he... Very true.....
All we wanted was an A/C and a comfortable vehicle. and being from Karnataka struck the chord with the travel operator.
We had hired the Force Traveller on a km basis. i.e., 250 kms a day @ Rs.15/- per km.
So we pay for 15 days irrespective of kms run.

Thats true Fazal....
After a short Delhi Darshan, Enroute had lunch and set off to Shimla.
Directions given by our GPS - Sir HVK was
Delhi - Ambala - Karnal - Shimla = 340 Kms and 8 hours of journey
On the dot.
We reached Shimla foot hill and called HPTDC guy for location, he said, we are still 2 hours away from HOLIDAY HOME SHIMLA and we must have our Dinner at HPTDC HOTEL SHIVALIK. We reach there by around 10:00 pm and were treated with some Stumptous Meal... Lovely. We and HPTDC Hit it off instantly.
It was 1:00 am by the time we reached Holiday Home Shimla.
Extremely comfortable rooms, he hit the sack only to wake up by 8 am the next morning. Thanks to our ride, we were not exhausted.
Wow Pawan this thread is really getting interesting.
I see all your family members with lot of energy epically the Kids.
It’s always nice to have packed food from home and have it in a park/road side tree. You have to be in that occasion to enjoy the mood/feel.
I am following your thread very closely from more pictures and adventurous/story from Shimla.

Thank you very much.
Much to everyone's surprise, my kid was active all through the trip (touch-wood) She was charged up to witness the
"SNOW ICE":D
Day 2 dawned and full of Shimla shone with the rising sun.... Nice city and what a set-up... Took some snaps, went around the town, sadly the
APPLE SEASON had long gone and what we could get was only Apple Juice.
Having touched Shimla, and nothing at Kufri, we decided to head towards Manali.
Once again HVK GPS had suggested we take
Shimla - Darlaghat - Mandi - Kullu - Manali - 283 Kms and 7 hours including 2 stops
Left Holiday home shimla after some cups of Coffee and Tea, and headed towards
Darlaghat - HPTDC Hotel BAGHAL As expected, had a Fab Breakfast and started towards Mandi.
Clean roads and Fantastically scenic..
And as we were nearing Kullu, the Snow capped mountains started showering over usclap:
Had lunch at Kullu and reached
Hadimba Huts / HPTDC Log Huts.
We were in for much bigger surprise once we reached Manali.
Just 2 days before we reached there, that part of the region had received Heavy Snowfall, and there were lots of snow around our Log Huts.
We had booked 2 log huts, Cozy and Huge.
Each log Hut consisted of 2 Huge Bedrooms with Attached Bathrooms (24 hrs Running Hot Water) a Large Living Room and a Kitchen. What more could we ask for.
Kewl pics man. Good to know that all my guidance helped you a lot. I always enjoyed reading your travelogues. This one too is amazing. Thanks for the Plane pics especially of wings.. Waiting for detailed report.
Raghav, super thread and even super planning and execution, BTW, whats with the signature? PM If called for :)

Alrite, will post them for you.
But before that the ladies had their share of shopping for Shawls at the Kullu Shawl factory.
Nothing comes cheap here, especially if you are a tourist.
The Log huts are PREMIUM properties of HPTDC set-up at the most serene sorroundings and is away from the bustling town of Manali.
We had total fun there, as we had whole of 2 kitchens at our disposal and that took care of our Breakfast / Lunch and Dinner for 2 days.:D
Have some more pics but will post it later, posting whatever i could find right now.
Hey Pavan, its been three days and no post from you? Hope you have a wonderful time over there. :thumbs up

@Pavan - One clarification. I am assuming that the kitchens were fully equipped but you had to bring your own consumables? So you had planned and taken all that stuff before hand?
Keep it coming i mean future updates and not the food. :D
Pawan Saab, that's an amazing trip planned with the whole of the family in tow. I so yearn for a trip like this with my family. Only if all the wishes could be full filled. Enjoying your TL thoroughly.
OT: Were all the elders comfortable travelling by road, especially for long distances?
