I am no tyre guru & don't intend to start fights.

I have not had any bad experience with Michelin CAR tyres made in China.

If TBHPians have used Michelins from China & have a good comments on them, Michelins it is for my next tyre change.

I got Apollo OE in Polo TDI highline. Just in 7K we had 2-3 punctures and today to my surprise I saw chip of rubber came out. My Tyre guy told me see I was mentioning about quality of Apollo and you can see the result. Man this is worst thing I have ever seen. I don't see such a damage in my Yoko C drive even after 45K. Never recommend this to anyone. Stay away.

I did run around 60k kms with Apollo acelere (1st set - 50k and second set - 10k after which I sold the car). It was puncture after puncture for the first set of tyres & not even one puncture in the second set till I ran it. During the purchase of tyres for my new car, I opted for BS GIII's & stayed away from Apollo as those puncture issues came across my mind during decision making

Can anyone suggest me how to make a complaint and get warranty replacement for my Apollo tyres as it seems some manufacturing defect and both my front tyres has small small chip of rubber is coming out all over the tyre.
I heard really bad repo about Apollo replacement but wanna try.

Warranty on tyres is mostly a myth. They give you one excuse or the other. I am speaking from personal experience. I had tyre bulges twice and they just said that I must've hit some pothole very hard.

The car is driving mostly in the city and in Ahmedabad you hardly go over 40kmph. I am sure MIchelin tyres are strong enough to sustain this much.

I am not saying Michelin are bad and I also went for Michelin again but Apollo is not at fault. My friends accelere have lasted pretty well.

So I just did a forward cross tyre rotation today and later read on the web about being careful while doing this. One needs to check whether the tyres are unidirectional. I tried inspecting the tyre for any arrow marks indicating the same but couldn't. Can someone please confirm? Are Apollo Accleres unidirectional? (as in, are they allowed just roll in one direction?)..unless otherwise one's going in revers of course rl:

No, Apollo aceleres are not unidirectional.

I have ANHC that came with MRF ZVTV. Although no complaints about the tyres so far, my biggest problem now is with the GC (with 5 ppl on board, the front flaps and bottom scrapes) and therefore I am considering upgrading the tyres to 195/65/R15. I found another thread here where the guy has done some good research and found that these sizes will work for the city. Any good/bad comments? I am caught between choosing Yoko A Drives, Michelin Primacy and Apollo Acelere. I am going to list out my requirements in the order of priority and would appreciate comments from forum members and mods on which one to purchase

a. Ground Clearance increase. I believe 195/65 should give me 13 mm more.
b. Fuel efficiency should not drop too much.
c. Steering comfort should be same or better.
d. Good grip in summer and monsoon.

I am not worried too much about the tyre noise since I have music all the time and windows rolled up with Aircon running. My drive is mostly in Bangalore city and on highways the max I will touch is 100 KMPH

Hello all,
I am going to change tyres of my NHC ZX to 185/65 R14 (stock is 175/65 R14).
I have two options A drives - 3800/tyre and Apollo Accelere - 3750/tyre

Which one will be better? My priority is comfort and long life.
Are the prices okay? or should i ask a few more dealers.

Go for Yoko A drives as they are overall better than Acelers. My car is running on Acelers and i find them to be quite good and suggest you to get them if you drive on bad roads. They are pretty tough.
Since there is no price difference, i suggest you to go for A drives. Get them from a reputed tyre dealer.

4 Tyres 185/65 R14 + 4 new valves and wheel balancing, alignment, nitrogen filling for 15000 from gurkirpa autos sec45 chandigarh.
manufacturing 3811 so around 4 months old.

Don't worry, they are worth every penny you spent considering our Indian road conditions. I have had a set on my older sedan and never had any complaints as such.

Good choice. These tyres can absorb lot of impact when driven over potholes. IMO these are next to MRF ZVTS when it comes to toughness :D
I find them to be quite noisy when driven on cement & rough roads. Overall VFM.

195/65/15 would be an incorrect upsize as the variation in tyre circumference should not be more than 2% technically. Read my thread on City 12 if you want more details.
195/60/15 is the correct upsize. Yokahoma, Michelin are good for ride quality; Michelin being 10% expensive but quiter.
