hi guys ! was planning on upgrading to 16" as it seems somewhat better off than 17"ers as ive heard of way too many tyres bursting! could someone tell me what would be the ideal tyre size for 16"ers i was thinking 205/45 r16 or should i go for 205/40???

Stay with 15"s, they're the best combination of looks, handling and practicality for our road conditions IMO.

Hey speedomania

Try and keep the speedo error(due to tire swap) less than 3%

Ideal upgrades wud be on a 16" with new speedo errors(as applicable)
205*55 2.8% slower readings than standard
205*50 0.5% faster reading
195*55 1.0% slower reading
195*50 2.0% faster reading

what u were looking at
205*45 will give you a 3.9% faster reading
205*40 will give you a 7.2 % faster reading

hey vikram,
i just installed 195/55ZR15 Goodyear F1 GSD3 tyres and lenso 15" wheels for my swift. it absolutely rocks.

i am of the opinion that 50 profile is the minimum that you should go for in swift, or ride quality suffers like hell, trust me. 60 profiles are optimal. As everyone harps around here, 195/60R15 is the optimal size, and i agree, for once

thanks to all for your suggestions

What sort of price difference can one expect between

205*55 / R16
and
205*55 / R15
or 195/60 / R15 (may not be correct size for swift, but just hypothetically)

If someone can highlight the costs individually (Tyre and rim separate) it would really help.
