Chevrolet Enjoy: Alloy & Tyre Upgrade

Hello Bhpians, A friend of mine has booked a Chevy Enjoy, The model being 'LS', which is Basic, since it has no ABS, He wants to upgrade to Better tyres; the OEM size is 175/70 R14. Please suggest 15" Tyres. Vehicle will be used for long drives. Ride shouldn't be affected. His budget would be 35k Incl. Alloys.

PS : @Nikhil I had sent you a PM, please revert when you can.

cheers

The ideal upsize would be 185/60R15. Not sure about tyre choice in that size, but I am quite sure you get Apollo Aceleres - which are pretty decent as I have heard.

re: Chevrolet Enjoy: Alloy & Tyre Upgrade

Sorry for the delay in responding Chetan.

My suggestion would be 195/60-15 tyres. The difference is 2.4% but I think the wheel arches can accomodate it.

185/60-15 is the perfect size but 195/60-15 would be better as you have more options and the ride quality will be better along with the GC.

Thanks, Kilo and Nikhil for the valuable input. I've zeroed down to Yoko A-Drive, C-Drive, ER60 and CPC2, what would your recommendation be ? Open to other options as well.

Not the ER60. Why do you want an old model? Get one of the newer tyres from Bridgestone if oyu are keen on it.

The issue is that something like the C drive will be a little soft. How heavy is the vehicle? If it is heavier than most sedans or hatchbacks, then I will suggest you look at a slightly more durable tyre with a strong sidewall like the CPC2.

re: Chevrolet Enjoy: Alloy & Tyre Upgrade

I'm not too keen on Bridgestone nor I have a particular manufacturer in mind. I need something like an all round performer; like you said with 195/60 R15, ride quality will be better along GC, based on that, I am open to any Tyre that provides these.

The car will be used a for long drives, Primarily. Checked the Checy website, The Kerbweight is 1345 Kilos and Gross weight 1930 Kilos.

re: Chevrolet Enjoy: Alloy & Tyre Upgrade

@Nikhil, The sales rep at Chevy is now telling me that with the 195/60 R15 upsize, the tyre will hit/scrape the bumpers; he suggested that I go with 196/55 R15, please advise.
