NO issues buddy, just go with the 185/60 and as suggested by Viddy + the official review the 185 sections are the best.

Anurag the official review and vid are recommending 185/60 while you and getsurya favor 185/65 ! And vid has a point about the wheels POSSIBLY touching the wheel well at full lock. Guess we need to ask getsurya whether he has experienced this !

The general idea is to keep overall diameter as close to stock as possible. So this is an approx way to do it:

14":

175/65-14 (OE size) OD =583mm

185/60-14 OD = 577mm (Gc will go down but steering will be little sharper)

185/65-14 OD = 596mm (OD goes up quite a bit but depending on car it is usually ok)

195/60-14 = 589.6mm

15"

185/55-15 OD = 584.5mm

195/55-15 OD = 595.5mm

195/50-15 OD = 576mm

Stick to stock 175/65-14 or 185/60-14. 185/65-14 won't look great on the Brio. Too tall and may touch on full lock at the front.

195 will have an impact of FE and steering will get heavier so in your case don't bother with the 195.

Dunno if this is OT , but considering the Amaze also comes with the same OE tires as the Brio , I thought I would share my experience here.

OE 175 tires are useless except for getting phenomenal FE figures. High speed handling ,braking were always suspect , so much that I managed to lock the tires on a couple of occasions inspite of abs and ebd

I changed to 195/69R14XM2 on the same OE alloy rims. There is - noticeable difference in handling and braking and a very negligible decrease in FE. Also I realise the speedo error is lesser now when compared the GPS readings. I use mainly in the city and I don't find any major difference needed in steering inputs. Ask me , I would say Honda should have had 195 mm tires as OE on all their cars ( even the new city has skinny 175 mm cycle tires ) , but then they cannot advertise 26 kpl on their cars if they had wider tires.

I would say go for 195/60R14 Michelin XM2 for your Brio. On tire pressures , I am keeping 2 psi more than the OE specified tire pressures for 175 mm tires

re: Honda Brio : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hi,

I also plan to upgrade the tyres on my Brio. Is there an issue if I change to 195/65/14? Will it have an adverse affect on any aspect? The reason I ask is because the Yokohoma A drive I plan to upgrade to has only 195/65 in 14inch currently. Also this will be good for the problematic Ground Clearence of Honda Cars on the notorious Bangalore roads. Also are there any other better brands apart from Yoko that I can consider with these specifications for the Brio?
Many Thanks

195/60 R14 is the closest to oem upsize. I recommend the MRF ZLO over A-Drive. Been using it for the last 3 years.

re: Honda Brio : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello folks, I am getting delivery of my Brio VX in ten days time and I need some suggestions on which tyre to go for.

I have shortlisted the Yokohama Earth 1 185/65 R 14 and the Michelin XM2 185/60 R14.

So from the two, which would suit best for our road conditions? I know the Michelin's are expensive when compared to the Yoko's, but the pricing in not a concern if it offers more bang for the buck Also a concern was that, with the Yokohama Earth 1 185/65 R 14, would the tyre touch on full lock at the front as suggested by Vid6639?

After market alloys for Honda Brio!

Hello guys! I currently drive a 2010 Ford Figo 1.2 DuraTec and I am soon upgrading to a Honda Brio S MT
I absolutely love the car and think that the car will look really good with some nice alloys. However, I am an absolute noob when it comes to this section!
So I had a few queries regarding that:

1. Can I only change the alloys keeping the stock tyres?
2. If I have to do a tyre upgrade, which tyres should I upgrade to?
3. Which companies and dealer should I prefer for the alloys?
4. Is there anything else a newbie should know?

I am kind of on a tight budget. So upgrading the alloys will be the priority.
I had seem some amazing alloys on a few Brios. Here are the pictures:

re: Honda Brio : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

You can stick to the OEM tyres and get 14" alloys. But it wont look great as the tyres will be quite narrow and look funny on wider rims.

You can get 14" rims and bigger tyres. Like 195/60-14.

You can get 15" rims and 195/55-15 or 205/50-15 tyres.

Do keep in mind 15" rims means your ride comfort goes down. If I were you, I would get 14" rims and go for 185/65-14 or 195/60-14 tyres. Looks good and retains the comfortable ride.

re: Honda Brio : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Lads! I'm going to book a Brio in this week. As I'm going with a lower variant, I'm planning to swap the OE wheels and rubber with some decent alloys and upsized tyres right at the time of delivery. Need your expert suggestions on the following fronts:

1. What size of rims should I choose 14" or 15" ?

2. Which brands should I consider? Did a bit of homework and picked some brands (Lenso/Momo/HRS/Enkei/Konig)

3. Tyres (Brands and ideal profiles).

Thanks in advance!

The ride on the brio is a bit jarring. I'd not recommend 15" at all. Stick with 14 and get 195/60 R14 rubber.

Re: Honda Brio : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Are the V version OEM alloys lighter or heavier than the factory rims?

Anyone?

Re: Honda Brio : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

One starts feeling vibrations the moment the Brio touches 120 on the highway. Would upgrading tyres solve that?

I have a number of road trips planned in 2016 (yay!) and I am seriously considering a better set of rubbers.

Thanks in advance.

I am planning to upgrade tyres on my Brio SMT which has already got 47K on the ODO in 2 years of running. Though I prefer to upgrade to alloys also - what I wanted to know if I go purely for tyre upgrade - does 185/65 R14 or 195/60 R14 fits the stock OEM steel rims? And if I also upgrade to alloys - I would prefer 14" alloys - but not sure which of the above 2 tyre specs would look good and/or provide more comfort oriented ride?

195/60 fits fine on the stock alloys. It fitted fine on the steel rim spare wheel as well so I think you should be good.
