Yokohama BluEarth AE-50 tyres are listed on Yokohama India website, along with some details. Launch or availability is unknown to me.

They are mentioned to have "extreme grip with environmental performance". They use two types of silica as part of the material. The proprietary "Orange Oil" technology is also used, like the Earth-1 tyres in our market.

The listed tyre sizes, load indices, and speed ratings are:

I found a few pictures of these tyres installed on a car in Russia. The tyre profile is 195/60 R15.

They are already available in India. I installed them on 11th December 2017.

I have installed the 225/55 R16 99 W AE50 BluEarth Yokohama tyres on my EcoSport.

They replaced the Pirelli Cinturanto P7 XL in the same size.

This is an upsize that has the same diameter as the default 205/60 R16 that it came with.

The Pirelli lasted 40k kms and performance tapered off after 30K kms.

I would I guess be among the first in a unique position of reviewing and comparing these tyres in India.

Let me look up some snaps first.

I bought them for INR 9900 each payment by card. The Yoko earth 1 in normal 205/60 size wire for about 6250 in comparison. The Pirelli P7 XL were 10xx and Michelin P3S were 11500 all in the 225/55 size. The Michelin P3S in 205/60 were 8500.

Comparing Yokohama BluEarth AE50 vs Pirelli P7 Centuranto XL

Comfort:
Yoko BE AE50 - 8
Pirelli P7 Centuranto XL - 8 (Normally they would have been softer and hence given more comfort but due to being XL rated (Extra Load) I had to run them on higher tyre pressure.

Both though were more comfortable than the Original Size Goodyears.

Dry Gip
Yoko BE AE50 - 8.5
Pirelli P7 Centuranto XL - 8.5

Wet Grip
Yoko BE AE50 - 7.5 (Expected as per reports)
Pirelli P7 Centuranto XL - 9 (Excellent)

Life
Yoko BE AE50 - 9 - Expected life.
Pirelli P7 Centuranto XL - 9 (Lasted 40k kms, lots of punchers after 30k kms)

Looks
Yoko BE AE50 - 9 Look good
Pirelli P7 Centuranto XL - 9.5 - look great

VFM
Yoko BE AE50 - 9
Pirelli P7 Centuranto XL - 8.5
Michelin P3S - 7

Overall
Yoko BE AE50 - 8.5

Michelin P3S - 8.5 (Looses on VFM) otherwise very comparable.

Tip: Buy any of these 3 tyres, don't go for XL Load factor.

The Snaps here cover the Pirelli and Michelin in same size as my new Yoko BluEarth and the Original Goodyears in the smaller default size.

The Goodyear Assurance were most VFM (10) but would not rate them above 5 out of 10 in any other parameter.

After driving a bit more:

Fuel Efficiency:
Yokohama BluEarth ae50 - 9
Pirelli P7 Cinturanto XL - 8
My FE is back up to original size tyre levels implying that the BluEarths are more efficient than the P7s

Dry Braking:
Yokohama BluEarth ae50 - 8
Pirelli Cinturanto P7 - 8
Dry Braking continues to be similarly effective.

I do expect that P7s would be the best in Wet Braking, but need to see in rains next year.

I wanted to get 2 new tyres in my Baleno. Premium performance tyres were not considered and I decided on Yokohama Earth 1. I told the same to Nikhil, but he advised me to go with Yokohama BluEarth AE-50. Frankly I did not know about these tyres before stupid:.

I did some quick research and these tyres were indeed a segment higher than Earth 1. Price difference was very less, hardly 400 bucks per tyre. Yokohama BluEarth is obviously a better choice, it competes with Michelin P3ST, Continental MC5 etc.

I could find only this thread here on Team BHP. I don't think many know about these tyres. Madhus Bangalore are selling them since June 2017. I got them installed at Madhus and new tyres were put at rear. The tyres are December 2017 make and imported from Philippines.



Impressions :

1. Comfort :
I could notice the change in ride comfort immediately. Baleno is known for stiff / bouncy ride at rear. It has become much better now. These feel better than Continental MC5 too.

2. Tyre noise :
I can say it is better than Continental MC5. It is almost same as Michelin P3ST.

3. Grip, High Speed stability :
As I am using these tyres only at rear, I can't give a proper feedback. But the car definitely feels more planted than before :).

4. Steering response :
I will post about this after I change the front tyres to BluEarth.

Overall I am very happy. These tyres are very VFM considering it is in same segment as MC5, P3ST, P7 etc.

This is my very first post on this forum. I have been researching new tyres for my Verna 1.6 SX(O)vtvt-AT 2012 model (Up sizing to 205/55/R16) since a month almost to the point of insanity :Frustrati !! Finally have been able to make a shortlist:

Bluearth
Michelin P3ST
Yoko A drive R1.
Yoko C drive (only if I get a good price, current quote given to me is 9500)

Seeing as this thread is on the bluearth, I would really want to know if any users currently using bluearth have previously used any tyre(s) from my short list. Is it fair to compare the bluearth with the Mich P3ST ? Also are they more or less premium than the A drive R1? Is it okay if I go with bluearth for the front two and P3ST for the rear tyres both in the same size ?? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I finally went for pirelli P7 cint after some more research. Although they weren't in my initial short list but got great first hand reviews from skoda owners and a very close friend who has them on his Audi A6 2013. Had to compromise on the mfg date, its from week 27/ 2017 but the dealer informed me that pirelli gives a 6 year warranty from DOT and unofficially he gave me his assurance that since he was an authorized dealer he will get a claim in case of any problems. The tyre feels good in terms of grip and noise levels are low. Tread life should be better than Michelin as its sidewalls are less soft but only marginally. Overall initial impressions are good.

Any feedback on these tyres ? How do they fare in comparison with Michelin primacy 3 ST ?
195/60/R15 Michelin Primacy 3ST are available for around Rs 6500 a piece.
What is the the price of Blue Earth AE 50 in the same size ?

I have recently installed Bluearth in my Baleno by replacing the stock tyres. This has improved the ride quality, so less sound increased the in-cabin silence. Comfortable driving during monsoon season. Got greater control on road. In longer term also helped in mileage improvement.

I recently upgraded to Yokohama BLueEarth- AE 50 Size 195/60 R15 88V on my Sift Dzire ZDI stock alloys from the Stock MRF ZVTV 185/65 R 15’s, and ohh boy! There was a magnificent improvement in Handling, Ride Comfort & Road noise. The Stock tires were almost 6 years old and turned in to rock with 50K clocked on the ODO, so I upgraded just before going on a road trip from Mumbai to Udaipur & back and every penny spent on the tires was worth it.
I noticed that the tires are imported and has a made in Philippines tag on them, I was skeptical initially since these were the softest of all the tires shown to me in the shop and side wall was very easy to press compared to brands like MRF/Bridgestone and Apollo, but later I realized these were made of special compound with orange oil technology to provide exceptional grip and comfort. I got a deal of 19.5K for 4 tires.
Initial impressions:
I was blown off with the improvement in the ride quality during the road trip from Mumbai to Udaipur, the tires stuck to the road as if these were glued, very minimal road noise, excellent comfort, high speed stability and steering wheel weighted well balanced. The tires managed to handle few bad patches too without any issues. Only weird thing I noticed during highway tea breaks that the tires tends to turn greenish over the edges as if it was releasing some sort of compound during the break in period, and that stopped after 2k Km’s of continuous running. I am not sure if anyone has seen this with new set of tires or this happens only with the Yoko’s Blue Earth. Overall I would recommend this tyre to anyone who is looking for a upgrade.

Green colour on tyre shoulder for new tyres is common. Had it been specific for Yoko BluEarth, would it not be Blue :).

Now it is available at 185/65 R15. Got my Swift ZDI tyres changed to Blue Earth AE 50 today as I got a good discount for Rs4600 per tyres. My XM2 which had done 52 K, had developed some cuts on the outer edges. Will post a review after crunching some miles.

You made a great choice. I am using Bluearth since 9 months. Road friction noise from tyre has reduced drastically. Also ride comfort has improved. :)
