Tyres for Mercedes-Benz C250

I am in the market to replace tyres for my Mercedes Benz C 250 (205 / 45 R17). I live in Chennai am currently running on Continental. I am looking for a dry & hot weather tyre that is durable, suited for bad roads at the same time provides a safe and smooth ride. Around 80% of the driving will be in city (In Chennai) and around 20% of the driving will be in the highways

I find Michelin's to be very soft subject to wear tear and replacement within around 20000 Kms. Suggestions on tyres for Mercedes Benz C 250 from Team BHP members shall be appreciated

Thanks

Krishnan

They are soft but thats why they offer better grip and a softer ride.

re: Tyres for Mercedes-Benz C250

Have the Michelin Primacy 3ST on the Merc E250 CDI, and I found them to be quite hard wearing. Have taken them through rough roads, and they handled them pretty well. The grip on wet roads is a bit lacking though.

The Contis, on the other hand, which were on the Merc from delivery were developing bubbles like no one's business. No such issues on the Michelins. *touch wood*

Hi Krishnan,

You seem to have the wrong tyre size.

It will be either 225/45-17 or 225/50-17. Or even 245/45-17. If you can confirm the correct size, we can help you out.

Thanks Nikhil. You are right, this is a typo error, my tyre size is 225/45-17.

Hi Krishnan,

If you're worried about the Michelins being too soft, then consider the Perfinza by MRF. Pretty good and being from MRF will be a bit rugged too.

Do keep in mind that it's a new tyre and the long term durability of this is untested.

In that size, all tyres available are soft compound performance tyres like Continental CSC5, Michelin PS4, Yokohama Advan Sport.

You may be able to find some mainstream Pirelli P7 or something in that size which is not a performance tyre. It will be harder, more long lasting than the Michelins but you wont get the same level of ride comfort, grip, etc.
