What to do with stock steel rims?

Hi,

When I bought Fiat Petra last year, I replaced stock steel rims with OEM GTX alloys. The dealer refused to take them and they were delivered with the car itself at the time of delivery. So, here, I land up with 4 stock rims along with wheel caps!

I just don't know what to do with them. They are just lying, stacked up in the terrace. My better half has given me several ultimatums to get rid of them as they occupy corner space. In fact, she has threatened to sell them off to "bhangarwalah" for 50-100 Rs. per rim. I have been resisting it hard for long, but I will have to sell them off before they land up in some junk-yard.

I absolutely do not mind giving them for free, if anyone needs them for their Palio/Petra, but it would really hurt to see them scrapped.

Any help?

P.S.: I am located in Pune.

RX135,
No One buys the rims, even if they do it'll be 50-100 even if you sell it in a tyre/rim shop. If some thing does happen to your alloys (touch wood) you can use them in future. Thatz exactly what I did I have 5 Steel rims lying down at my place.
Thanks,
Mega

Steel rims normally go for 200 bucks a piece!
Since u're using OEM alloys, sell off the steel rims.

Someone I knew in the States had refurbished old wheels and converted them into beautiful tables for this terrace. Wear the thinking cap....

If the wife is against this also, just sell them off. They take up too much storage space.

Hey RX, I could probably take them off you!

I have a Siena which has covered about 60 k and a couple of my steel rims (14 inchers) are slightly bent. My tyres are relatively new though (tube type - soon to be replaced, waiting for Vitamin M)

What say?

That's a good one I had tried suggesting this, but it was shot off even before I could complete it. And knowing how lethargic I am, I won't blame her.

@SuperAvi, you can take them. I'll bargain with my wife to keep at least one for emergency, but chances of winning the argument are rather low (as ever).

Kept my steel rims in the loft. Though I dont have any idea when I will sell my car, I intend to remove my alloys and sell it with stock rims.

Any idea how long these steel rims will last sleeping in the loft

i'd say that was a waste of space. you could get rid of them now & buy another used set when you sell your car.

Hi RX 135, I have a Santro Xing, and would like to upsize to 14''. Do you reckon Fiat rims would fit on a Santro? If they do, I could take them too, i.e. if SuperAvi does not need them.
