Here is a excellent article from ‘Car and Driver’ magazine on tire pressures. The bottom line is that tire pressures should be maintained as per the sticker/ label on the car or as per the owners manual. Also explained very succinctly are the reasons why different cars have different recommended tyre pressures for the size of tires.
