Tyre situation with my V40 CC- Need Help! Hello all,
So I am at a point where the stock Pirellis (225/45/R18) have worn out considerably sooner and are starting to roar like crazy. I am told uneven wear is the culprit and to top it all I faced back to back punctures in different tyres in recent times and decided to change the stock rubber to something that offers a good balance of performance and quiet ride. Now I understand there is a huge supply shortage of imported tyres and even the Volvo dealer here in Chennai doesn't seem to have stock. Similar situation with many of the local dealers I enquired. Some of them have a few Michelins, Bridgestone etc in stock but 235 or 245 45/r18 or other varying configs from 2018/2019 MY. So here goes my set of questions that I would be grateful to receive answers for.
1. Best Tyres I can go for given the 225/45/R18 requirement - Decent performance + Low noise
2. Can I even opt for 245s or for that matter other configs? Dealer tells me any other config would affect the suspension and steering and I need to stick to the stock/ Volvo recommended spec that the stock tyres came with.
Based on the suggestions, I can zero in on the sets assuming I can get hold of a recent stock.
Thanks in advance!
