Your go-to tyre brand?

Out of many tyre brands available in India, which is your pick?

For me, I had installed a set of Bridgestones for the entire duration I had the Innova for. The Scorpio N came with a set of MRFs which to be honest isn't too bad either, it's almost at par with the Bridgestones.

Apart from Bridgestone and MRF, I have experience Apollo and Goodyear both of which I disliked.

re: Your go-to tyre brand?

Michelin will be the winner of the poll hands down. However, availability is the major concern today. I used to be a Michelin guy, but my current go to brand is Continental. My 2018 City drives on the UC 6, and the Scorpio 4*4 on CrossContact ATs. Have particularly been impressed with the CrossContact - they've tackled rocky terrain which required 4L mode, as well as highway rides with exceptional ease.

re: Your go-to tyre brand?

Michelin by far the best of the lot and most comfortable for sure.
Was very disappointment with Goodyear on my Swift.
Current tyres are Apollo Alnac's which is OEM and has performed well.

Voted for Michelin

When someone talks about premium tyre quality, they talk about Michelin. It's famous for good performance, safety, and durability. It's the preferred choice for many car owners looking for comfortable driving.

I have also used Apollo and Bridgestone and found them to be good as well. Both brands are known for performance, safety, and reliability. They also offer a range of tyres for various driving conditions.

re: Your go-to tyre brand?

It will be Apollo for me.

These tyres came as OEM for my current and previous 2 cars. Robust tyres, made for India road conditions. Replaced the previous car tyres with Michelins and they were plagued with punctures, tube wall cracks, swells and what not. Michelin may be silent tyres but they are not made for India roads.

re: Your go-to tyre brand?

If one is not too much bothered about noise and looking for VFM & longevity, Bridgestone and MRF are the best bet as both of them are hard rubber based. If performance and better noise reduction is the need, soft rubber based Conti and Michelin will come out as top. Apollo Alnac series fits in between. In my opinion, CEAT are the crappiest tyres.

Michelin is in advanced stage of car tyre production in their existing Chennai plant. So I guess the availability concern will ease by next year.

re: Your go-to tyre brand?

I want to replace my 2016 Baleno's tires with a run of 36000 kms (I know your scooty has clocked more ) . Which one would you recommend? I've shortlisted these three so far: -

MRF Energy XM2 Plus
Michelin Energy XM2+
Bridgestone Ecopia EP150

Like everyone else, Comfort, Road noise and fuel efficiency is important, but I can't stand punctures. My stock MRF tyres never punctured (except one tyre only once - fingers crossed ).

I mostly drive in city roads in Delhi NCR (Extreme temperatures) and occasional Highway trips to Punjab & Himachal. And I drive once or twice a week (WFH) which approximates to 30 - 40kms/per.

Here's some more I think are worth considering. Getting confused even more:

MRF Energy XM2 Plus / ZV2K
MRF ZVTV
Michelin Energy XM2+
Yokohama Earth-1 E400
Bridgestone Turanza T005
Continental UC6

re: Your go-to tyre brand?

Michelins by far has provided me with the best results be it reliability (less punctures and long lasting) or the performance (less noise and dry/wet conditions).

The distance second is the continental which lacked in reliability as two of my four tyres went kaput (sidewall issue) within 15000 kms of use, closely followed by Bridgestone that provided me with long lasting reliability but with good amount of punctures and also had considerable tyre noise.

Re: Your go-to tyre brand?

Voted others:

Have been using Vredestein since the last 1 year. 20k on the odo and I'm very happy with them. I have used Apollo and Yokohama Earth 1's before this. Michellein and Continental's were not available in factory spec so couldn't try them on my Rapid.
Would earnestly ask fellow members to give this brand a thought. I felt them to be better and cheaper than Yoko's.

Re: Your go-to tyre brand?

On my Thar CRDe F/L, after a lot of personal online research, I decided to go with Bridgestone Dueler A/T002. I am from Sikkim and although the roads that I frequent are mostly muddy, I did not opt for mud terrain tyres because my driving frequency is very low.
