Are these price reasonable ???

I have finally decided to upgrade my tyres on my 2003 Zen.

What I am looking for is a
1. Good ride quality
2. Good handling as well as performance on wet and dry roads
3. Low Noise
4. Should be able to handle the bad roads of Bangalore.
5. Should last atleast 30k Kms

I spoke to couple of dealers earlier today. This is the quote I received

Michelin

1. 155/65 R13 XM1 = 2200/tyre
2. 165/65 R13 XM1 = 2400/tyre

Has anyone used 165/65 R13 on their zen. How good or bad is it when compared to potenza GIIIs?

Silverstone

165/60 R13 = 2650/tyre

Has anyone got any reviews or views on Silverstone tyres?

Bridgestone

165/60 R13 Potenza GIIIs = 2950/tyre
175/60 R13 Potenza GIIIs = 3050/tyre

I heard a couple of dealers saying Potenza GIIIs are out of stock in bangalore for size 165/60
But I find one dealer quoting the above prices and he had these tyres in stock

Are the above prices reasonable or am I being taken for a ride? I am satisfied with the prices of Michelin tyres but I am not so sure about the bridgestone ones.

P.S: I want to change the tyres as soon as possible.

1. Michelin prices are fine. As per the current offer Reebok track suit is given free with a set of four tyres.

2. Potenza GIII prices are on the higher side. Check out its mfg week before buying. There are chances of GIIIs being an old stock.

3. I'm using 165/65-13 with esteem rims. It used to touch when i bought them but now it doesn't after i did some mod to my wheel wells. So its better to stick to 165/60-13.

4. Are u planning to get alloys too?

5. Avoid Silverstone tyres

6. GIIIs price here:
165/60-13 Rs 2750/-
175/60-13 Rs 2900/-

Thanks kpzen

Yes I am planning on alloys too.

Any specific reasons to avoid silverstone tyres?

The manufacturer dates on Bridgestone were not old "2207". They are pretty new.
Will search around for better deals for GIIIs then.

I know couple of guys who got Silverstone for their rides and weren't happy at all within a few months of usage. So they got them changed for Michelins and now they swear by Michelins.

If u are getting 2207 GIIIs then its good to get them. But mind u the ride quality with 165/60-13 wont be great but the grip would be fantastic. Now its your call what u want and on what kind of roads would u be driving to decide on GIIIs or 155/65-13 XM1

Fellow users Manveet & Fuelled have used Silverstone's & have shifted to other brands subsequently. You can PM them for their opinion about the tyres.

Infact if you do a search I believe there are a couple of reviews by them in some thread.

You could consider Goodyear Eagle GA Plus as well. I have them on my Santro (165/65/13) and am very happy with them.
They satisfy all your 5 conditions. So you could check them out too.
