Tyre wale Guruji's, are there 195/55/15 size tyre available for OHC's ? or 195/60/15's ?

Lets say if i want a 15" Rim, but wouldn't mind 195 instead of 205's so as not to compromise that much on ride quality ?

Im riding on stock suspensions.

Basically, one needs to reduce the profile to counter the increase in Rim size. End objective is to keep the upsized tire's overall diameter consistent with factory fitted stock tire's overall diameter.

195/55 will fit but it is beyond the permissible limits of 3-4% i.e. will pose many problems such as tire scraping, incorrect odo reading etc.

195/60 won't be possible.

Ride quality is determined more by the profile and less by the width (Not saying that width doesn't play a role). Therefore, 195/50 R15 is also a possibility for you - something which I used on my OHC for a few months.

But if you want a profile greater than 50 (say 55) on the stock suspension there is no alternative except reducing the Rim size to 14".

There are plenty of threads existing on the subject. Please use the Search function or have a word with resident experts - kpzen, iraghava etc.

195/60 R14 has an overall diameter (OD) of 589.53mm whereas the 205/50 R15 has a smaller OD of 585.97mm. It's just a thought - maybe your marks are because of this 3.56 mm difference.
Thats a possibility. Am getting the car serviced tom, will try n take some snaps of the marks on the inner wheel arch.

Perhaps. But then sticking to stock would be the most practical solution.
Man don't remind me of the stock tyre. What a horrible experience it was. U wont have a prob with it, as long as you drive in a straight line. Hehe

With 195 its better to stick with 14" i.e 195/60-14..
If u are worried about ride quality then why even think about 15" that too on stock suspension.

I have seen a OHC with 195/60-15 which is a wrong upsize..U'll would need spacers n still face some problem..

Well SYJ, I think the Alloys will look DAMN sexy on your ride as long as your OHC gold shade is on the lighter side. (I couldn't be sure from the pic, but doesn't seem like you are running the dark gold shade).

My 2 cents - Alloys is a VERY personal choice and pretty much a reflection of your personality. If YOU like the alloys, go for them WITHOUT seeking further advice.

That's cool then - it wouldn't have gone well on Naples Gold.

Re: Ohc upsize

I've been riding 195/55/R15 for several years, but seeing this thread should I go for 205/50/rR15 next time?

I'll be changing my tires in 2 weeks, so appreciate any input soon! What are the kind of changes that I will see -- what could be better, and what could be worse?
