tough fight: apollo acclere or yokohomas-drive!!

just zeroing on the efforts of lot of threads, we all know how good bridgestone G-III and micheliin XM1 are!

but , the hot discussions these days comes down to either yokohoma s drive or apollo accelere!

both have got excellent reviews over noise levels and grips , wear!

so whats your call guys! which is the better one amongst these 2 tyres.
also kindly mention the price you have got it for !

yokos score quite heavily over the apollos (in the long run as well). If you are looking to using these tyres to the max, get the yokos even if they are slightly higher priced.

The tyre wallahs will be here shortly, for more detailed comparisons.

If using for basic commuting duties in cars like Palio, Indica or Verna, get the cheapest available (Acelere?).

For a given size, ride quality will be determined more by the tire pressure you keep, than any difference between the tires from these four manufacturers.

i think when apollo launched acelere one of our delhi or nearby teambhp member hand gone for a full set of it and had premature failure of three of the due to blistering and tyre burst in less than 10000kms of running. search around the details, you might get help in deciding.

i dont think apollo acceleres compete with the yokohama s-drives.aceleres are more in comparison with the michelin xm1's.they are all round tires providing good grip, handling, comfort, low tire noise.you should probably compare the yoko c-drives(i think) with the aceleres.
the acelere sportz would be similar(more or less) to the yokohama s-drives.

I am impressed at what Apollo was and is now. Kudos to the new management team.

There's no tough fight here.
S drives are way ahead of Aceleres in all parameters.
It would be better if the Aceleres are compared to Michelin XM1 and Yoko A300.

guys, got hold of accelere 185/60 R14. the looks are just fabulous, tires look big. had over 100 km run i.e to lonavla and back, and they are better than stock tires i had - 165/65 R14 bridgestone s322. the first few things that i noticed-

1. tires are absolutely noise free
2. though bit heavy on steering, the overall feeling is great ( may be coz i was driving on absolute worn outs for few months)
3. ride comfort has improved - sidewall height in stock tires was 10.7cm to now its 11.5cm.
4. car has become stable for sure!
yet to check on cornering and stuff but just waiting for bit of more running on these!

appolo guys are doing a good job in office.good promo etc.we can compare them with the bridgestones and mrfs, yokos are a league up.and the phsyco factor of going for videshi factor arise even if the desi product is better and cheaper.i vote for appolos if the usage levels are normal driving conditions etc.but if you are an adrenalin person yokos may save you at times.

Khadoos baby, as said before there is no comparison between these 2 tyres, if you want cheap (tsk1979 made it very clear for his requirement & i appreciate him for that), go for the apollos, but make sure you get a good bargain, else if it is just a little, get the yokos, they will serve you well.
