Getz 17"

Is it possible to fit 205/40/17 on Getz? Am currently running it on 205/50/15 and it has worked wonders in my 30,000Kms run but I had invested on 17" Momos for my Corolla which I removed and want to use it on my Getz with new set of rubber. The reason I removed is am selling the Corolla and my dad is buying Skoda Superb and I think the Momos wont fit that car. Please give me your valuable suggestions and also what make of tyre I can go for. My first preference is Yoko S-Drive , any betters?

Yes 205/50/17 will fit the Getz, but you really want to go so low a profile? Ride wont be pleasing, and chances of the rims bending is high. You will need to be very careful. On the Corolla, 205/50/17 will do but on the Getz its too low a profile since you will need 40 profile tires(more accurate upsize will be 205/35/17)

Tires you can look for are Pilot Sports(Irghava, the guy with pHD in Tires will clarify about the availability)

And also, does special pattern tyres like the ES-100 make more noise compared to the more grooved tyres like the Mich PP2? The ES-100 were pathetic when on my corolla and they were so s**t damn hard! I have used PP2, G III , RE750 and I rate ES-100 the worst tyre of the lot!

Busa, I think I mentioned 205/40 and not 205/50.

There's no proper 17" upsize for Getz unless u get some 35 or 30 profile tyre.
The best maximum possible upsize for Getz is 205/40-16.

BUSA: Its better if u sleep now

I would not recommend you to go more then 15inchers on the Getz, 17inchers will/can also give suspension issues on the Getz, already the engine is not producing too much power, the car will become slower.

P.S Sorry guys i meant 205/40 indeed(thanks Crazy rIdEr) as KP could rightly guess its time for me to sleep

Riju A stock Getz Petrol with 17inchers should reach a ton before the common wealth games IMO.

Not to worry, already in touch with Mr.Raj for performance. FFE, Green, Cams and Port should keep it alive.Today my car is at Anwar for ICEing. Performance should be taken care by the end of this month.

Getz with stock 13" takes 13-14 secs so with 17" it should take 17-18 secs

KP - If the car comes with 175/65 R14 it can indeed be fitted with 205/40 R17. I have infact seen one Getz in Delhi with this size & it looked pretty nice! It's the same calculation game as in the Lancer's.

However, the car will slow down with the added weight & drag of the wheels & tyres & also the ride comfort would go down.

Tyres available would be the Yoko S-Drives. No options in Michelin, officially.

IrAgS - I know 205/40/17 would be fine but wouldnot 205/35/17 be the best upsize with the least error.

Ok. I just calculated using 155/80-13 and 170/70-13 as stock sizes. Don't know why these manufacturers use different OD wheels in their same car..

Here's one getz with 16" 205/40-16 wheels
