Radical NewTire design by Michelin
Those 'flex' tires again...
No air! And much less petroleum in their manufacture. Check these
out...
Thought you might like to see the next generation of tires. They had
a
pair at the Philadelphia Car show. < /FONT>
Attached are pictures of the new Michelin tires. These tires are
airless
and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work
on
these tires.
This is what great R&D will do and j ust think of the impact on
existing
technology:
· no more air valves
· no more air compressors at gas stations
· no more repair kits
have been seeing these pics for 3-4 years
by when are they planning launch and at what price

The first to mention the Michelin Tweel was
mohit on 5th Jan 2005.

More than a year later, in April 2006,
DaPilot started a new thread
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-a...es-tweels.html
Then there is
TARUL's 3-month old closed thread from Feb 2008.

Isn't Team-BHP very well informed?
I would search for earlier posts on the subject before "reinventing the wheel" (sic). No offense !

Hey Mustafa,
By any chance, have you got news of these units coming for retail sale / review with anyone in Bbay.
Just checking.:)
Hi All,
Michelin has launched a set of tyres called the "TWEEL" look lovely and I presume will initiate a new ERA in tyre technology. Do note that these pictures were taken at the south Carolina plant of Michelin. How did I get my hands on them ? dad is an industrialist manufacturing automobile tubes big time and send me these.
I presume these are a first and as always on TEAM BHP!
Mods : These perhaps belong to the Alloy and tyre section but since the pics are radically new I decided to post them here. Apologies if they are in the wrong place and please do move them if you deem fit.
Best Regards,
