my innova has done around 35k on its current set of g3s in the stock size. though the tyre wallah says they will run 10k more the front set looks much more worn out than the rear and i would like to change them. these tyres provide pretty good grip but the road noise is way too high and the ride is too stiff.

so these are the ones im looking at -

Michelin mxv8 - Rs6200. the dealer says michelin sidewalls are too soft for indian conditions and get cut easily and even showed me a michelin tyre of a indigo with a cut sidewall.

Falken Ze912 - Rs5500. the dealer says these are very good and dont have much road noise and the ride will be good. for some reason he is really pushing for these. maybe he gets more commision on them.

Yoko C-Drives - Rs 5600. dealer says these have been around for a while and are good tyres.

i will also find out prices of yoko AVS db decibel V550 and A drive R1 and update here.

what are your views?

i want a tyre with a good amount of grip, low noise and good ride.

from the list i feel Yoko will be a better choice...

Yokohama C-Drive is a very good tyre. Gives excellent performance, comfort and grip. I've fitted them onto a fleet of Tavera's and Innova's here and the purchase dept is happy as hell. I would recommend them to you anyday.

akki bhai ! I think Falken's are good but Yokos are better for performance as i read in many threads here on this forum and elsewhere too. About michelin's mxv8, i cannot comment although i run XM1 for my alto ride and i find it excellent. Regarding Falken's i did read about good reviews in forums abroad but according to some folks on the forum here, they tend to fade away lot quicker than normal. For the price range, performance and comfort i think Yokos deserve this :thumbs up. However, you can get other members review for Michelin MXV8 as i am total noob on that. Maybe KP bhai might be of help.

Bridgestone potenza g111, is a performance tyre, hence the firm ride & road noise.
Out of you choice michelin mxv8 seem to be best suited , as yokohama is known for their performance tyres & falken are not among the top.
What michelin mxv8 for rs6200? I checked for my corolla , they were 4800/-

thanks guys.. ishan, kp where are you guys? need your input.

Dont have idea about Yokos but can vote for Michelin Mxv8. I recently changed in my innova.

ok probably gonna change this week or next week. i know ive been dragging this on for long. seems the tyre prices have shot up?? kp any updates on prices of mxv8 and c-drives in 225? also the reports of michelins with bubbles and sidewall cuts seem to be putting me off them.

also any other tyres i should look at. want comfort and grip equally.

Bridgestone ER60 can also be a good option.Its available both in 205/65R15 & 225/60R15. MXV8 @ 6200 is way too high.are u talking abt 205 or 225 ?
ER60 205/65R15- 5.1 K
ER60 225/60R15- 6.8 K
MXV8 205/65R15 -5.2 K
MXV8 225/60R15 - 7 K

we have been using the michellin mxv8s on our innova from the past 6 months 25000kms down the line they are still going strong. They have an amzing ride and offer pretty good levels of handling too. Road noise is also way less compared to the stock potenzas. 6.2k seems pretty steep though. We paid 26k for 5 tyres and 1 puncture repair kit. The other tyres we looked at were some bridgestones which were cheaper by about 2k (for 5 tyres).
Imo the mxv8s are good balance between comfort and handling.

these are the quotes i got today. 7.1k for 225 mxv8s and 5.5k for 225 c-drives. at the rate the prices have risen i think its most likely gonna be the c-drives.

at 7.1k they are insanenly expensive

Akshay
First make yourself clear about the tire size u want. 205 or 225?

225/60-15 C drives for 5.5k is a great deal.. MXV8 isn't worth 7k plus.

What's the price of 205/65-15 MXV8 ?

i want 225s and will most likely get them. i know its not worth 7k for mxv8s which is why im inclined towards the c-drive. i think the 205 mxv8s are below 6k. dunno why there is such a big difference?

also how will the performance of the c-drives compare to the mxv8s? and any other tyres choices?

Akshay,

Do you still need options for tyres ? As suggested by others go for mxv8 or C Drives.

I have driven 20000 Kms with mxv8 and havent faced any problem so far, it is very silent with good road grip. i also settled down mind to 205 because of the price difference between 205 and 225.
