225/R16 tires for octavia 1.9tdi

i've got a year old almost stock skud octy 1.9tdi... got 16"HR 5spoke rims and running on 225/55/R16 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3... I am not satisfied with the performance of this tire.. It is good to look at, but braking is inaddequate and the car shudders at corners and also heavy understeer. Thought it will be good in wet conditions, at low speeds there is no water resistance, but at high speeds on hitting pools of water, the car hydrofoils... I was tolerating all this, till last week, crashed into a road diversion barricade reason partly being understeer....

Decided to change the tires now.. Need advice.. I am from Tuticorin, South Tamil Nadu... I almost always travel at around 150kmph and on a good freeways 190kmph... I do not want to change the rims size and also think i want 225 for a robust look.

Currently i am thinking of:
Michelin Pilot Preceda 225/50/R16
New Michelin Pilot Preceda 225/Z50/R16
Michelin Primacy HP 225/60/R16
Yokohama Advan 225/60/R16

I need high precision primarily... noise, comfort, fuel economy and all tha are secondary. Previously used Pilot Preceda on lancer and was extremely happy. Kindly advice. Thanks...

Hi,

As shuvd, suggested get the PP2's.

I'm running the same on my RS. Good grip and ride comfort.

Dear Arun,
A few options in Yoko's with the prices as follows :
225/60/16 Es501 (Comfort Premium) @ 7200
225/60/16 V550 (Comfort Premium ) @ 8000
225/50/16 Es501 (Comfort Premium) @ 7700 (have fit this in a Octavia , have got good feedbacks, and also meets your requirements )
Michelin should cost you around 9k 4 each tyre.
