Dear Friends,
ive changed all the four tyres with Continental UC6 upsize profile of 205/65/R16 and run few hundred kms with it. I did this change of tyres and upsizing after taking in to consideration the advise received from some of our esteemed members. I'm happy with the change as the ride has become lot smoother, very less or negligible noise and comfort over pot holes. My ride is mostly on highways with occasional rough roads. My present stock good year has run 50k kms and started giving lot of noise and frequent punctures and also less grip with strain on brake shoes. I did this change from Lal tyres Kattupakkam Chennai and an established name in the business. The cost paid was Rs.27,000/- for Four tyres(Rs.6750/- each) including alignment & balancing. Date of manufacture is 2922 and it means week 29, year 2022(July 18 ) and just 1&1/2 months old. I did arrive to fix UC6 after considering Michellin primacy 4ST(not available or early 2021),Yokohama Gt-Ae51, earth1(hard compound ,tyre noise & less comfort)Bridgestone B390(noise,hard compound).

Looking to install Continental Cross Contact LX2 on my 2016 Scorpio.

Does anyone have any recent reviews of these tyres and approximate pricing?

Got to do 2 trip last week covering around 600 KMs. Mostly it was dry and din't counter any rains. So the feedback is mainly for driving in dry.

1. Noise Level is very low on Tarmac. But same cannot be said about concrete roads. The noise is very audible on concrete roads and I am surprised how loud it was given that these are new tires.

2. Grip is good in dry condition. I had brief tire squealing twice on hard braking (speed was between 80-90 KMPH). The Braking was good and BRV stopped in a straight line. Not sure if its because of tires or ABS kicking in aggressively or something else. But keeping an eye on it and will see if its repeats

3. Cornering - I don't push the BR-V too much keeping in mind is a Cross SUV. But there was no drama and car handled well and met the expectation.

Does anyone have any experience with Conti CC6?

Tried contacting 3 dealers in Bombay for UC6, all of them had only CC6 in stock.

Can you mention the tire size and vehicle of application?

The CC6 is equivalent to XM2 and the UC6 is equivalent to Primacy 4 ST. If you're going with CC6, please keep your expectations moderate.

For that size, I believe UC6 is the best option out there. Is there a possibility of ordering the UC6 and waiting for it? Or have they stopped producing it in that size?

I have been using them for past 10k km in my Wagon R. They provide good wet grip and handling but their claim of being silent is not accurate. I experience decent amount of tyre noise on highways. For the price you may find better deals with other brands.

I have been in this dilemma for a while now and listing down my observations on my tyre options for reference of other members. My car is a Hyundai Creta Petrol 1st Gen running 205/65/R16 tyres:

Figo (diesel): I was never a Bridgestone user due to the high price and then eventually tried Michelin XM1+ which kept me very happy and got discarded only after 70k kms. Loved them to bits, but when they got worn out, downgraded to Yoko Earth1 since I was planning to upgrade to a larger car. After running the Figo for 1 lakh kms, moved onto a slightly used Creta.

Options
1. Yokohama Earth 1 - Having used these before, these were the first option that sprung to mind. Advantages were that this is a made in India tyres and have a hard sidewall.
2. Yokohama BluEarth AE51 - recommended over the Earth 1 as they are more performance oriented and made in Philippines. Multiple members in Team Bhp are using them and are happy with the results
3. Pirelli P4ST - comparable to the Michelins and are soft compound.
4. Conti UC6 - highly recommended by dealers - Manu Pitstop, SLNP Pit stop and Tyre Empire (Brookefields). Had heard that most dealers are pushing for Conti but this turned out to be fairly unanimous in terms of recommendations.

For now, the final choice is between UC6 and AE51. not considering Michelins and Conti LX2 due to their pricing. Will mostly go for the UC6 as there are multiple threads praising these tyres and recommending the same. My only worry is with regards to the sidewall of the UC6, compared to the Yoko's. UC6 seems to better in every other regard, comapred to the AE51s.

Any inputs/recommendations from the members are welcome.

I had upgraded to these on my XUv500 back in Feb and have driven about ~12K kms. Overall pretty good experience, even did a BLR-Leh trip. Update from Feb below.

Could you provide details on the change in steering feel after upgrade, FE and noise before and after upgrade?

Ride is more 'Planted' and quieter. I drove less than 100kms on stock tyres so can't comment to FE. I get around 11-12 in city and 18-19 on highway drives.

195/60R16 are usually priced above 205/60R16. I understand the size is uncommon.

Now that the Punch is a big hit, and the top variant uses 195/60R16, and the Nexon being a bigger hit and having it entry and mid variants use the same 195/60R16, shouldn't the tyre size become more common than before and less priced than before?

Got to drive a lot in the rain over the last 10 days.

Encountered heavy rains while driving from Bangalore to Madikeri. I did 80-90 KMPH in the new Bangalore Mysore express way. The grip level was good in the rains and braking was also excellent, no complaints in wet.

Drove in rain while in Coorg as well, the grip and braking was good in the ghat.

Overall I am good with the Continental Tires for now. Need to check the long term reliability.

Hi guys,

Has anyone used the Continental ContiComfortContact 4X4C tyres? I believe this is a new product and it is made in India.

Would like to know just three things about them, braking, ride-comfort and overall toughness. By toughness, I mean sidewall resistance to cuts and bruises on bad roads or light offroad use.

Comfort is not that much of an issue, but just don't want the bushes and joints on the front suspension to take too much of a beating while on bad roads.
