i wish to upgrade to bigger tyres for my fiat palio 1.2, pls suggest whats the max size i can go for.
Well, what's the size of your stock tyres? Is it 165/80 R13?
Then here are your options :
1. 175/75 R13
2. 175/80 R13
3. 175/70 R14
4. 185/65 R14 (Best Option)
5. 195/65 R14
6. 185/60 R15
7. 195/55 R15
8. 195/50 R16

is your best option which is 185/65/r14 advisable? i mean is it wise to change the rim size??

Since Palio 1.2 shares the same chassis and body dimenssions with the Palio 1.6, i'd say 185/65 R14s will fit perfectly. As for the rim size, you can use any size from 5" to 6.5" but 5.5" rims would be ideal.
I have 5.5" rims on my Vtec which has 195mm (5.5" to 7" bracket) tyres and there have been no downsides with this combo. But make sure, you choose within the 5" to 6.5" bracket.

Well, if you're going in for new rims, you might as well upgrade them to 14". If you plan to stick withthe 13" ones then, you'll have to choose between 175/80 R13 and 185/70 R13.

My friend has got 185/65 r14 on his 1.2 sport. Runs fine there are no problems. It should fit your car fine.
Get some nice 14" if you can. It really improves the dynamics of the car a lot.
i agree with the ugraded rim size.
i recently changed my stock palio 1.9 d from 165/80R13 to 185/65/R14 on neo alloys with Goodyear Eagle NCT5 tubeless.
the car is performing like a dream...you must upsize and change. the 185/65R14 is the best fit - just 2 mm more than the OD of your current stock tyre.
you will have no problems...but better grip, handling, braking and same FE.
pls use the right air pressure for the tyres though - for the palio 1.2 it is 1.9 bar(kg/cm2) or 28 psi (front and back)
Hey Cream,
How about a report on how the car feels now.
Just got the eagles put on my car but have not driven it yet.
More comfortable though.
Oh and i have seen some GTXs with 205/50/R14 tyres.
Are they reccomendable?
Shahmotors, just close your eyes and go for good year eagles.
People,
me looks for a decent upsize for my Palio 1.2 ELX as my old ones are getting flat
the stock is 165/80 R13.
not willing to change the rims or upsize them :)
so, suggest the 13 inchers :D
Would 185/60 R13 be a good choice?
Tough upsize.
The only ones possible are 175/75R1 and 185/70R13
I haven't seen such sizes so i presume they are close to impossible to find.
Try 175/70R13.
Go for 185/70-13 ....The best possible upsize considering u want to have stock rims....u also get Potenza GIIIs in this size...
I would have to agree with kpzen its best if you go for 185/70. You can go to a 60 profile but seeing our road conditions and very recent experience with that size I would recommend you not to go that way since our bad roads can lead to sidewall failures on some tyres, especially if you are an aggressive driver. As three of my Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D2's proved three days back!
Are Eagle F1s available in 185/70-13 ?
Website URL?
and if yes, where can i find a good dealer at Pune?
thanks

the only option for u is 185/70/13 as u wont be going too low from ur OE height. this is as per height calculation only though. u need to check the width calculation if it will fit on ur stock rim. if the stock rim is too narrow, putting a wider tyre will cause the sidewall to weaken at hard cornering, and maybe also result in ur tyre coming off the rim.
u can go to
