Okay,
After a long time,
i have decided on Bridgestone DONUTs - 195/60/R15.
This is perfect keeping ride comfort and handling in mind.
Will call up those guys tomorrow and see.
And post some pictures too of the Rims.
We are going to have the best looking Red lancer in town.

Finally decided.
I have to get 14 inch rims with Falken (the best the dealers got).
Size 185/65/R15.
Anything bigger or from outside and our warranty goes.
The worst part however is that we cannot change it after a couple of years.
I plan to change it so that no one shouts at me when they realize that the comfort level has deteriorated.
Will post pics soon.
Thanks for your help guys.

Curious - isnt R15 rimsize 15? How're you going to put that on a 14 in rim?

Typing error.
I meant 14 inchers.
But once these are worn out, there will be nice 205 yokohamas waiting.

Lancer comes with 175/80/R13 tyres.. If you are going for a 14" the Ideal tyre is 195/65/R14 (plus one concept). So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at 69.87 mph with this setup. If you are going for 15" the ideal tyre is 205/55/R15 (plus two concept) So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at 69.57 mph

That is the closest you can get. Even with this setup you will loose one or two kms/litre. But the advantages are low profile, better handling and good looks.

I personally would go for a 14" than a 15"... The reason being by using a 15" your side wall becomes very small and the foot print is too big when compared the original ones.

195/60/R14 is a wrong choice because

1. Original tyre = 175/80/R13
Current RR = 305.1mm
Current circumference = 1917mm

2. New tyre size = 195/60/R14
New RR = 294.8mm
New circumference = 1852.8mm

Difference in circumference = -64.72

Therefore So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at 67.63mph.

Disadvantages:

Low ground clearance.
Speedo error
Lower aspect ratio leading to smaller side wall thickness

if the original size is 175/80/R13 then the idea choice would be

195/65 R14.
that way the difference in diameter will only be - 3.46 mm or -0.18 % So when your speedo reads 70kmph, you're actually travelling at 69.87 kmph.

or if you want 15 inch rims then the idea one would be

105/55 R15.
that way the difference in diameter will only be - 11.63 mm or -0.16 % So when your speedo reads 70kmph, you're actually travelling at 69.57 kmph.
