I would suggest you to go with Yokohama A drive. Surprisingly my dealer quoted around Rs.250 per tyre less for Accelere compared to similar size A Drive.

I had to prematurely change all Acceleres (3 yrs / 35k km) with still 30% tread remaining due to air leakage problems on my Fabia. In their later life the tyres are not as good when compared to other brands like Michelin / Yokohama.

On the other hand the XM1s I have in the Dezire are still going good with 40k kms run - should run till 55-60k kms

Last weekend, i got new set of tyres for my Ford Fiesta. Its Yokohama A-Drive. Got it @ Rs.3,800 from Madhus, Bangalore. Upsized to 185/65/R14

Earlier one, Bridgestone Turanza ER60, has done around 43000 KMS. It might go on for another 2-3k KMS. But i was not happy with the ride quality towards the end as it was stiff, jerky and noisy. But overall, it would rate this as Good.

After changing the tyres, Ride quality is good, soft. Theoretically, this tyre upsize should increase my GC by 6mm. So far So Good.

Update : Had a long drive from Bangalore to Madurai.. A-Drive gives quiet and comfort ride. But Grip is Okay. I felt Turanza ER60 had better grip at higher speeds.

Wait for the tyre to finish running about 1000 kms or so. The first 1000 kms or so is not the best to test the performance of a tyre. What you say might be true but wait for the tyre to settle and then decide! :)

Fellow BHPians, how long has the A drive lasted on your car?

I happened to check the thread on my tires and around 1/4 is left. Car has clocked 17k km. Looks like the tires may last another 10k km. Isn't that a tad bit less?

There is no uneven wear of tires.

Hi friends,

I own a Fiat Punto EPK which has completed 40k till date. I am thinking of changing the tyres of my car. The car comes with the Goodyear GT3, 195/60 R15 tyre size. Although I have nothing much to complain about the original tyres, I would like to upsize to 205/60 R15 in view of a slight increased ground clearance. My other priorities are comfort and wet performance.

My neighborhood YOKOHAMA dealer has quoted a price of 5.5K each for Yokohama 205/60 R15 A-drive. Is this a reasonable price??

Is there any other option in the required tyre size that i should check out??

I actually liked the asymmetrical pattern in the C-drive. Are these tyres good?

i don't have 'em A-Drives but yes that is not tad bit less; that's a lot less. my stock Goodyear GPS2 lasted me 41k and still had about 10k left in them.

of course, the way and where the car is driven also counts.

afterthought: what are your tyre specs? mine were 175/70/R13.

Of 17k km, around 2k in city, around 1k in ghats,2k in broken roads, the remaining on NHs.

Its 185/70/R14.

I switched to A-Drives in October since my Palio's stock Goodyears ran out of juice after 37633 kms. I opted for wider tires - 185/70/R13 the stock was 165/80/R13.

The Yokos have complete 5k and is really good. The road noise is very less, the grip is pretty decent, braking has improved and the ride is better. The only issue that I have is that the acceleration is a tad lesser than the skinny stock tires but then I'm OK to live with it.

I paid Rs.3900/- per tire at Speed Tyres, Cochin.

hmm.. i don't think that amount of driving should reduce the life of the tyre by almost 50%. have you checked with the dealer why this kolaveri di? :D

Ah! Chance to kolaveri:p?

When I got the tires swapped, I was in a hurry and I forgot to collect the bill. No warranty claims:Frustrati

Lol, I knew this was coming, from you and from othersstupid:.

I really have no complaints about the tire. It's been exceptional, saved my *** more than once, saved me from crashing into an ambulance (yeah, irony of life!). Given me superb ride and comfort. I love them so much that I might replace the existing ones with A-drives again. My only grouse is the rate at which the thread has worn out. I will be happy if they last me 35k km. Less than 30k km is really a heart burn!

If the place you bought it from has a computerised system, they can dig out a bill for you. In our places, we can give duplicate bills even 2-3 years after the transaction.

Hello all,
I am going to change tyres of my NHC ZX to 185/65 R14 (stock is 175/65 R14).
I have two options A drives - 3800/tyre and Apollo Accelere - 3750/tyre

Which one will be better? My priority is comfort and long life.
Are the prices okay? or should i ask a few more dealers.
